Chemours is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Fluoromonomer team! This position will report directly to the Manufacturing Technology Manager at our Fayetteville, NC, location.
The Mechanical Engineer provides equipment technical expertise to support site manufacturing operations and ensures safety, reliability, capability, and productivity of the facilities.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide Mechanical Engineering support to the manufacturing area operations for troubleshooting, modifying operating equipment and facilities, and PSM (Process Safety Management) related activities
  • Provide Mechanical Engineering expertise for project design work to ensure its compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for equipment failures
  • Collaborate with MIQA (mechanical integrity and quality assurance) lead on the implementation of best practices
  • Develop appropriate equipment maintenance plans to include equipment checks and predictive preventative maintenance (PPM) performed by operations and mechanics for non-capital changes
  • Lead Process Safety Management (PSM) criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale is provided to develop and manage MIQA effort, including critical spare parts identification and maintenance procedures
  • Analyze equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment
  • Participate in maintenance and reliability networks and share best practices, successes, and learnings

The following is required for this role:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree from an ABET accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing role
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects
  • Ability to work in a team environment with high degree of initiative and self-motivation and flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely

The following is preferred for this role:
  • Working knowledge of data analytics and statistics using tools like 6-Sigma, Python, Power BI, or process industry specific time-series analysis tools
  • Working knowledge of citizen-coder tools such as the Microsoft Power Platform (i.e. Power Apps)
  • Technical Experience Preferred

Pay Range (in local currency):
$93,184.00 - $145,600.00
Chemours Level:
25
Annual Bonus Target:
8%
