As the Assistant General Manager at Gold's Gym Downtown Tampa, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of fitness at the club. You'll be at the forefront of our mission to inspire, educate, and support individuals on their fitness journeys. Your main responsibilities will revolve around leading our personal training program, ensuring that our members receive top-notch guidance and support. You will be the key point of contact for individuals seeking personalized training services, leveraging Gold's Gym heritage and brand strength to attract clients and connect them with our talented trainers.

Key Responsibilities
Fitness
- Lead & manage the personal training team - hire & develop our personal trainers, including managing schedules, updating all required training certifications, and auditing our coaches to ensure the highest quality service for all clients and members.
- Stay on top of the latest fitness and health research - know the science (and art) behind producing results for our clients and members. From hypertrophy and strength gain to fat loss and injury prevention, being able to distinguish between fads and foundational fitness principles is key.
- Engage with members, walk the gym floor, greet members and guests, and assist members with any fitness needs.
- Potential to work as PT outside AGM Hours (must be actively certified to train members).
Club Operations
- Be the extra eyes, ears, and voice of leadership, applying your understanding of operations and fitness to enhance our daily operations. Work with your General Manager, training team, and others to optimize our member experience.
- Support the management of the profit & loss of the gym, membership, labor, retail inventory, concessions, R&M, and overall operations.
- Be our ambassador, promoting and staying aware of your specific gym's social media and digital presence.
- Assist in hiring, training, developing, and mentoring our club team members, ensuring our standards exceed our members' expectations.
- Be the face of Gold's Gym Tampa Gas Worx when the General Manager is not available.
Member Experience
- Our members' experiences at the gym are of the utmost importance. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of customer service through personal interactions and the development and coaching of our team members.
- Lead by example - be the charismatic and motivational leader, provide effective decision-making skills, create a memorable experience both for our guests and our team members.
- Assist in the overall success of the gym - from member feedback and responding to inquiries to generating new ways to provide value to our members and improve the overall experience.
- Engage and participate in our local community.
- Ensure the facility is clean and operationally sound. Assist in organizing weights and conducting equipment inspections.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience as a personal trainer is a requirement, and prior management of personal training teams is a plus.
- Current and active CPT certification is required.
- First aid & CPR certifications required.
- Minimum of 2 years of management or high-level leadership experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business or a related field is desirable.
- Strong understanding of operations and performance metrics, including P&L, budgeting, inventory, employee relations & labor management, facilities maintenance.
- Become an expert on Gold's Gym products & target customers.
- Being very personable and friendly is a must. You will be interacting with potential personal training clients daily, tasked with converting them from prospects into clients.
- Maintain flexibility in your daily schedule to handle communication needs, sometimes outside of typical business hours. Must be a flexible and reliable team player.
Must be able to build relationships, genuine connections, and trust, and have a customer-centric mentality and commitment to excellence.
Compensation: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
