Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location: Lillington, NC (South of Raleigh, NC)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in designing and manufacturing heavy industrial automated equipment. The successful candidate should be adept at working in a dynamic, lean, and agile team environment. The role involves hands-on tasks, project coordination, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have a versatile skill set covering both mechanical and electromechanical systems, with a strong background in machine design and manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Designing in 2D & 3D CAD software, with a focus on Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
Creating comprehensive 2D manufacturing drawing sets.
Developing 3D conceptual models for internal and external use.
Conducting FEA analysis on newly designed and existing components.
Testing and installing designed components in heavy industrial automated equipment.
3D modeling of components and mechanisms for various applications.
Modifying existing components within a system to meet project-driven goals.
Coordinating with external and internal design engineers, assemblers, and manufacturers to ensure products meet specifications.
Modifying and maintaining drawings and designs based on as-built specifications.
Providing support to shop and field technicians to ensure correct equipment installation.
Creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Coordinating with suppliers and managing projects.
Researching and pricing new and existing mechanical components.
Required Software Proficiency:
Autodesk Inventor
AutoCAD
Microsoft Office Suite
Microsoft Projects
CAM software experience (preferred)
PLC programming and diagnosing experience (preferred)
Additional Responsibilities:
Working with the engineering team to develop mechanical systems that meet unique customer specifications, contracts, and new business development.
Creating, reviewing, and modifying drawings for various electro-mechanical systems to ensure compliance with engineering standards and customer specifications.
Supporting the design and shop building of machine systems.
Reviewing and developing technical documentation for customer review and submittal.
Participating in installation and set-up activities to ensure components and systems conform to engineering design standards and customer specifications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in the design and manufacturing of heavy industrial automated equipment.
Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent project management and coordination skills.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to mentor and coach junior engineers.
Familiarity with CAM software and PLC programming is a plus.
