Senior Material Handler

About the Role:

The Senior Material Handler is responsible for assisting the various laboratories,
maintaining the right levels of inventory, and acting as a back-up for Facilities
management support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Experienced navigating and utilizing the ERP system for comprehensive inventory management, seamless transactions, receiving processes, and the execution of manufacturing work orders
• Efficiently verifies incoming deliveries, addresses discrepancies, and labels products for proper placement
• Maintains organized stock and inventory records, facilitating seamless tracking
• Proficiently operates forklifts, electric and manual pallet jack, ensuring safe loading and unloading of trailers
• Utilizes dock equipment, including dock locks, doors, banding equipment, stretch wrappers, and hand jacks
• Ensure product identification, separation, and control. Verifying expiration dates, and resolve discrepancies
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to achieve departmental and corporate goals
• Experience in implementing and improving cycle count programs for enhanced accuracy. Performs system-driven and directed cycle counts and physical count inventory activities
• Performs fulfillment activities with attention to detail both physically and systematically.
• Collaborates with internal and external customers on material requests and focuses on optimal customer service and satisfaction
• Ensures maintenance of freezers and vehicles, conducts daily inspections, and reports defects
• Performs shipping and receiving logistics procedures, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely processing. Tracks freight with various carriers for timely and secure material transportation.
• Maintains technical knowledge through educational workshops and collaborates with suppliers to optimize warehouse processes
• Actively participates in 5S or 6S methodologies, with understanding of Kanban, Kizen, and Continuous Improvement Process
• Proficient with Microsoft and Google Suites  
• Familiarity with temperature-sensitive materials and ERP system usage for efficient data entry. Oracle experience preferred.
• Upholds a commitment to a professional and positive image in daily business contacts

• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent, required
• 6 years of experience creating/processing Purchase Orders and Invoices, manage inventory, and understand of MFG work orders strongly preferred
• Shipping and handling experience in biotech or pharma industry preferred
• Experience in an FDA, CLIA, ISO regulated industry, preferred
• California Drivers License as Required
• DG Certification preferred 
• Current/Prior forklift training/certification, required
• Computer literacy, required

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. The US hourly range for this full-time position is $17.50 to $27.31. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is $25.00 to $34.14. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
