Introduction to the job
The mission of Material Handling is to provide customer service to the factory and engineering teams with timely delivery of materials to support production as well as distribution of finished goods materials back to the warehouse. As a Material Handler you are the key interface between factory production and the 3rd Party Logistics warehouse in ensuring material cycle times are met and systematic jobs are complete in accordance with Materials Requirement Planning.
Role and responsibilities
  • Works on a warehouse floor environment with 3PL.
  • Receives and audits incoming materials.
  • Conduct on floor inspections and Oracle system checks for material flow.
  • Ensure completed and accurate material hand off to and from 3PL.
  • Processes jobs via computer system(s).
  • Processes materials and kits to go to factory.
  • Packages, wraps, crates materials approved for transfer to factory.
  • Expedites/communicates to the appropriate work centers planners and 3PL.
  • Files and processes documentation in accordance with department procedures.
  • Operates manual pallet jacks as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate end of day activities to match next day needs.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for all work centers.
  • Responsible for Material Handler training and coaching.
  • Supports development of standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.

Education and experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience working in a warehouse or factory setting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, (Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Experience with Oracle or other inventory management software applications preferred.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents in English.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (written and oral).
  • Experience operating Powered Industrial Equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.

  • Knowledge of inventory reconciliation, cycle counting, quality audits, material receipts and order filling.
  • Ability to work independently on job functions and departmental tasks
  • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
  • Can learn and apply new information or skills.
  • Must be able to read and interpret data, information and documents.

Other information
Work Location and Schedule
  • This position is located on-site in Vista, California. It requires onsite presence to conduct daily work assignments, trainings and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation.
  • Work schedule Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Warehouse Responsibilities
  • Must be willing to work in a warehouse environment, sometimes operating material handling equipment and wearing proper PPE as needed for safety.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee routinely is required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Must be willing to spend the majority of time (greater than 90% less break time) on the warehouse floor, walking, standing and sitting.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The current base annual hourly range for this role is currently $24.52-$40.87. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
