The Senior Manager-Data Governance will help shape Walmart's ethical use of data and responsible use of technology as we work at transforming ourselves and the retail experience for our Customers and Associates.
We are looking for a bright and ambitious candidate to join the Walmart Data Governance Team. The Senior Manager-Data Governance is a critical role that works with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop item-level policies for Data Governance. This role will be a critical part of facilitating our business with digital transformation initiatives. You will help shape the company's policies and procedures regarding the responsible use of emerging technology. Reporting to the Director of Data Foundations, you'll work to draft and develop and manage Data Governance policies, standards, and compliance controls and will aid in resolving challenges and questions with respect to policy applicability.

You'll make an impact by:

• Analyzing Issues Related to Our Policies - Work with subject matter experts, legal, our business partners and others to understand business needs and regulations and assist in developing policies and controls to operationalize those needs, and presentations to message the team's goals.
• Leading Initiatives - Take ownership in one or multiple team objectives and implementing a plan of action.
• Leveraging Tools - Learn to utilize the many tools and resources we have available to efficiently manage workflow.
• Building strategic relationships: Maximize relationships with subject matter experts and other business partners to understand their business.
• Operating with excellence - Set an example in managing to KPIs, delivering excellence, presenting at all levels, managing projects, and developing your knowledge base.

What you will bring

• Degree : bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Domain Experience : Proven experience working in Data Governance domain or related roles. Experience in retail, healthcare, or finance industry would be a plus.
• Certifications : Data management or governance certification (e.g., CDMP, CIMP) is a plus.
• Data Analysis Tools : Basic understanding in SQL and data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Programming Languages : Familiarity with scripting languages like Python is a plus.
• Governance Platforms : Experience with Data Governance tools like Collibra, Alation, or Informatica is a plus.
• Compliance Knowledge : Understanding of data privacy laws like GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOX, Inform Act, etc.
• Cloud Platforms : Experience with cloud-based data storage like AWS, Azure, or GCP is beneficial.
