We're looking for an amazing Senior Manager, Public Relations to fill this role. This position can be based in our Seattle or Miami/Ft. Lauderdale offices. You'll be responsible to lead the organization's communications programs around port and community relations, sustainability, issues management and international markets. You will also be an integral part of the team's work around product and itinerary communication and media relations. This person will be a media spokesperson for Holland America Line and prepare others in the organization to do the same.

Responsibilities
- Reactive media relations, issues management, guest communications. Create and supervise implementation of responses through media to key issues related to the brand, the industry, or guest related issues. Be a liaison to Guest Communications to ensure message consistency.
- International markets communications. Supervise teams creating and executing Public Relations strategies for key Holland America Line international markets including Australia, The Netherlands, Germany, and United Kingdom
- Lead homeport and community relations strategy with an emphasis on maintaining and growing brand's reputation in key communities we serve, including Seattle, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, Boston, and Vancouver
- In cooperation with Manager of Public Relations, support proactive media relations and strategic press trips
- Create and lead execution of communications strategy around sustainability topics
- As member of Public Relations leadership team, help to create long term strategy for PR/Comms function and supervision and growth of team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Business, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Public Relations or combined Public Relations and journalism
- Experience with travel, cruise, or port related communications a plus
- Experience with media relations, international markets, issues management preferred
- Experience with strategic communication plan development
- Ability to juggle tasks effectively, excellent prioritization and time management
- Expertise in issues management decision making and writing/editing
- Firm understanding of Holland America Line's business or cruise and travel industry
- Experience as a media spokesperson
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Ability to manage and coach team members in areas including issues management and media relations
- Strong skills in collaborative planning and execution, integrating with marketing, sales, product development, and public affairs
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Ability to coach executives on communications skills

- Base Salary Range: $99,900.00 - $134,800.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
