Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to help lead and direct multiple facets of Managerial Cost Accounting along with help lead to a future utilizing modern Financial Analytical tools and methods. Will lead and work with a team to help with Cost Accounting, Budgets, Forecasts, and Analytics. Will work with managers from all Divisions at all levels. Will create documents for Parent Company and communicate with leadership as well.
Responsibilities:
- Managerial/Cost Accounting Duties:
- Creatively breakdown P&L activity down to Division, Customer, Project, and Part levels
- Profitability Analysis (From Big Picture to Little Picture and everything in-between)
- Financial Analysis Duties:
- Innovatively help manage Budget/Forecast cycles for Financial and non-financial activities
- Performs Variance Analysis and Reports (Monthly, Quarterly, Annually, Ad-Hoc)
- General Accounting Duties:
- May be responsible for reviewing some Balance Sheet Reconciliations if the BS accounts are closely associated with Production/Cost Accounting activities
- Management Duties
- Lead, Guide, and Direct subordinates
- Delegate and Assign duties and tasks
- Develop and Evaluate subordinates
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has direct supervisory responsibilities for the following positions: Financial Analyst (Currently Open) and Cost Analysis Group Leader. Will work closely with Cost Accounting Manager (Ex-Pat from TK/Parent Company). Duties include planning work for subordinates, observing performance, appraising, developing, coaching, and holding subordinates accountable for results. This includes leading by example, including being hands-on while performing activities alongside subordinates.
Job Requirements
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance or other Business Degree with professional experience
- 10+ years’ experience in a Cost Accounting and/or Financial Analysis position
- Understanding/Experience in General Accounting a plus
- 3+ years of Prior Management experience preferable
- Excellent Time Management, Technical, and Organizational skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Ve1y Strong at Excel a must)
- Experience at a company using an ERP that uses Standard Cost Accounting models a must. Preferably PLEX ERP, but any ERP system will do with demonstration of concept knowledge
- Understanding basic database logical structure concepts is a plus
- Knowing some SQL would be amazing, but not required
- Highly creative with the ability to prioritize and problem solve, with strong internal customer orientation
- Ability to manage Budgets, Forecasts, Analytics, etc.
- I 0. Ability to Manage Teams inside your own Division and Cross-Functional
- Ability to work with all Levels and Divisions/Departments
- Strong mathematical aptitude
- Ability to be flexible to changing demands
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
- Speaking Japanese would be a plus, but not required
