Job description

Job Description

Our Client a Tech Giant in the publishing space is looking for an experienced Senior Manager, LATAM AND ROW Content Program in the Newark, NJ office (Hybrid)
Good storytelling starts with great listening. At the client's, that means each role and every project has our audience in mind. Because the same people who design, develop, and deploy our products also happen to use them. To us, that speaks volumes.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
The client's LATAM and ROW content team focuses on acquiring rights for the production and distribution of premium audio content across Latin America and new territories (Rest of the World), where the client is still not available. In this role you'll generate, negotiate, and close a high volume of new deals for audio original, podcast, and book-based audio content with prospective partners, including authors, writers, content creators, literary agents, publishers, and recognized IP brands, at terms that benefit client customers. You'll have responsibility for acquired content, ensure successful post-signing go-to-market planning across the relevant teams at client and Amazon, and contribute to defining strategic development affecting client overall growth and success.
As a Senior Manager, LATAM and ROW Content Program, you will . . .
  • Manage content acquisition efforts in select international territories, including partner management, deal negotiation, and implementation.
  • Research and identify potential content partners in multiple territories and languages.
  • Develop, grow, and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential content partners, including authors, writers, content creators, agents, publishers, and IP brands
  • Independently manage, prioritize, and execute high-volume deal flow, structuring, negotiating, and executing deals that support client's content strategy and initiatives
  • Identify and prepare projects for internal support and valuation by presenting data, preparing budgets, and P&Ls, and drafting proposed deal terms.
  • Build relationships and represent the LATAM and ROW content team to various internal stakeholders including Editorial/Creative, Finance, BI, Marketing, PR, Content Services, Content Partnerships, and Content Creation teams.
  • Track and communicate deal terms within the organization and provide for the first line of enforcement of deal terms if necessary.
  • Coordinate closely with members of the content teams at clients to maintain consistency in messaging and policy.
  • Draft well-written and data-backed concise documents.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 7-10 years' experience and proven success in book publishing, content, media rights, business development, or digital media department/company
  • International experience and fluency in Spanish
  • Resourceful self-starter with an independent attitude and focus on excellence.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong deal-making, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills -- ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas only across different levels of an organization.
  • Ability to operate in a high-energy, high-intensity, and rapidly evolving environment.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams under aggressive deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in and understanding of both the digital and traditional media spaces.
  • Significant experience working with external partners.
  • Previous experience in the audio space, acquiring or selling audio rights.
  • Passionate about storytelling, the evolution of audio, theater, music, books, and consuming audio content.
  • Strong aptitude to use Salesforce, Excel, PowerPoint, and company-wide Project Management tools
