The Senior Manager – Freight Payment will be responsible for managing staff to ensure timeliness of freight invoice processing, auditing agreements and freight invoice payment. This position will handle analysis and tasks driving continuous cost and service improvements.Daily activities include:
- Audit and monitor SLA’s and contracts with transportation partners and freight aggregator
- Ensure that the output of centralized processes meet customer requirements
- Monitoring and managing key performance indicators and executing root cause analysis
- Initiating continuous process improvement activities
- Executing analysis and data preparation in support of logistics activities
- Providing timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other customer specific inquiries
- Working with internal SMEs to resolve problems and/or support implementations
- Policing Distribution Center operations to adhere to best practices and resolve issues timely
- Processing weekly domestic and international metrics performance reports
- Work with domestic and international staff to ensure timely processing of freight bills
- Monitor system KPI’s and address outliers
- Ensure planned and actual freight invoice costs match and resolve differences quickly and efficiently
- Work with Freight Payment Company and Carriers to create efficient and accurate payment processing
- Critical thinking, public speaking with the use of PowerPoint
- Enjoys worthing with data, statistics, and math. Very detail oriented and comfortable working with large data sets
- Bachelor’s Degree Required
- 10+ years of transportation operations experience
- 10+ years with carrier management, transportation planning, project management and logistics analysis, accounts payable
- 10+ years with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- 5+ years of experience working with Tableau, Oracle, Descartes, Road Net or similar
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office Suites, specifically advanced Excel skills with focus on customizing toolbars and menus, protecting worksheets, filtering options, v-lookup, data management, etc.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and implement feedback
- Ability to interact with clients, carriers, senior management to resolve issues and implement solutions
- Team centric values and ability to seamlessly interact with multiple functional business groups
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Statistics, Accounting, or related discipline(s)
- Knowledge of the tire transportation industry is a plus
- This is a staff position with limited physical demands
- Travel: Limited travel required
- Possess the ability to explain complex issues in a simplified manner to a range of stakeholders
- Needs to be comfortable speaking with C Suite Executives
