Who we Seek

The Healthy Back Institute (HBI)  seeks a Senior Manager/Director of DTC eCommerce to join our growing digital marketing team.

The Senior Manager/Director of DTC E-commerce will be responsible for establishing and strengthening our presence on multiple Third Party E-Commerce website platforms. 

You will be a key liaison between data, digital marketing, web development, web vendors, and outside agencies. 

This role will collaborate and report to the Director of Digital Marketing to impact business KPIs across multiple B2C storefronts and online marketplaces.

The Position and Focus

As the driver of our DTC site and third party retail e-commerce channels, this role will lead day-to-day planning and execution efforts, working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing Operations, Customer Service, Technology, and backend Marketing, as well as with numerous external partner agencies, to execute a best-in-class website in support of our goal to increase customer acquisition and revenue in the US and worldwide.

This key role will focus on a data-driven and creative approach to improving site performance.  The position will leverage Google Analytics data aggregation and analysis, SEO, A/B testing, and UX and UI design to understand key insights that will guide multiple efforts, including content optimization, customer journey, and site usability - leading to enhanced conversion on the platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead overall strategy & execution for the e-commerce DTC priorities & drive day-to-day execution of HBI’s projects and initiatives to support e-commerce revenue objectives and improve customer engagement. 
  • Optimization of content & site merchandising to refine the online user experience, customer journey & engagement, site navigation, and commerce flow to exceed target conversion metrics.
  • Establish dashboards and associated KPIs for the website, products, and customer buying performance to provide insight into the business performance of the channel (s).
  • Overall site management, including analysis, reporting, tracking and forecasting, product/item critiques, and market/competitor analysis return analysis.
  • Work closely with senior leadership, marketing, technology, customer services, and operations team to optimize the website’s shopping experience and product & promotional efforts to help meet business needs
  • Develop and Manage the workflow process of item set-up, product launches, and site changes on HBI’s website, Amazon store, e-tailers, cross-border partners, affiliates, and authorized 3rd party websites.
  • Manage the creation and syndication of digital product information (product details, copy, images) and content on HBI’s global website, Amazon store, e-tailers, cross-border partners, affiliates, and authorized 3rd party websites
  • You will drive the DTC E-commerce sales channel, improve the web shopping experience, and manage web content for effective merchandising and online brand experiences. Partner with the Digital Creative and Design Team to ensure digital product photography meets digital style guides to create the best online client experience
  • Provide ongoing collaboration on content to be published on sites. 
  • Ensure weekly site refreshes, functionality, and marketing initiatives are being executed.
  • Collaborate with technical partners (internal and external) to develop and deliver a best-in-class site experience and meet/exceed target conversion metrics
  • Maximize current tactics and unlock new opportunities to drive growth such as SEO, retention/loyalty, affiliate & partner programs, and demand generation
  • Lead web analytics related to eCommerce, work with Analytics and Finance teams to create and communicate performance scorecards that measure quality and quantity of traffic, optimize purchase journey, and ultimately increase conversion. Regular communication to teams, leadership, and cross-functional partners
  • Plan and execute promotional opportunities by managing product listings (content and keywords), images,  inventory, pricing, and promotional activities on the e-commerce platform to achieve sales and margin goals.
  • Continuous user testing & research, leverage industry research and best practices for ongoing DTC innovation, updates, and recommendations
  • Coordinate with Inventory Planner/Buyer and manage the movement of advertised goods in marketing campaigns based on inventory level
  • Help drive HBI’s global website improvements by working with the digital technology team, digital marketers, digital designers, developers, and third-party agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create site merchandising requirements, including the copy, image, products, promotional content, pricing, special attributes, and the navigational placement on HBI’s global website and authorized third-party sites
  • Develop robust, agile A/B test and roll strategy, leverage trends/insights to drive ongoing financial performance, user experience, and optimization improvements.
  • Provide product recommendations for acquisition and retention campaigns and product forecasts for various D2C businesses.
  • Plan and organize an ongoing sales strategy for the e-commerce channels
  • Coordinate and provide inventory forecasts to ensure appropriate inventory level allocation through multiple channels.
  • Demonstrate building relationships with vendor managers for the site and marketplace partners/channels.
  • Conduct regular catalog audits on the e-commerce platform to ensure the entire catalog is available for purchase to maximize sales.
  • An e-commerce manager will work closely with a graphic designer and a copywriter to craft creative digital marketing and email marketing campaigns, website banners, and social content.
  • They will analyze website data to identify areas needing optimization, paying particular attention to conversion rates, time spent on a page, drop-off rates, and cart abandonment rates.
  • They will analyze traffic acquisition channels and strategize how to drive more people to the online store. This could be through search engine optimization, social media marketing, influencer marketing, pay-per-click advertising campaigns, email, or other means.
  • e-commerce managers will also regularly analyze market trends and assess competition to identify new business opportunities.
  • They will collaborate with programmers on web development projects to optimize e-commerce website speed, launch new products, or improve the site’s UX.
  • They will strategize and implement customer retention and loyalty programs to drive repeat sales and increase customer satisfaction.
  • An e-commerce manager will own the fulfillment process, removing barriers to purchase as much as possible.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in online merchandising and eCommerce operations required
  • Expertise in using Google Analytics and similar analytical tools to measure performance, determine improvements and innovations, and support project requests from partner teams.
  • Experience with Magento, Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other eCommerce platforms performing data/analytics analysis and reporting.
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Organized and flexible with a track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills demonstrating a positive collaboration, win-win, oriented attitude.
  • Ability to influence multiple stakeholders through positivity and lead cross-functional projects with ease across categories or other departments.
  • Expertise in using Google Sheets to analyze a business, including experience with macros and pivot tables
  • Experience with SQL queries preferred

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
