ASML US, including its affiliates and subsidiaries, bring together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. Our headquarters are in Veldhoven, Netherlands, and we have 18 office locations around the United States including main offices in Chandler, Arizona, San Jose and San Diego, California, Wilton, Connecticut, and Hillsboro, Oregon.
This position will report to the Head of Legal & Compliance, US. US Legal & Compliance consists of several attorneys, export control experts, compliance professionals, paralegals and contract professionals. We are a close-knit group of highly empowered, independent and business-oriented professionals with both broad responsibilities and key business partner relationship responsibilities, who enjoy helping each other and working together. This role will be located at ASML's Wilton, CT site, with an opportunity for up to two (2) days a week remote work.
Role and responsibilities
  • Serve as a Legal Business Partner and provide front line strategic legal and compliance support to ASML's operations in Wilton, CT, including the Wilton Management Team.
  • Build close relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted counselor and partner.
  • Provide legal and compliance support to the Sourcing & Procurement Team, including negotiating a broad range of commercial agreements, professional services agreements and contracts as well as providing related legal advice.
  • Provide legal and compliance support to the Facilities and Corporate Real Estate teams, including negotiating a broad range of real estate and facilities related contracts and providing related legal advice.
  • Set the right compliance tone to ensure ASML complies with all relevant ethical, legal and regulatory standards.
  • Stay updated on any legal and regulatory changes that might impact the business and advise stakeholders accordingly.
  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, working closely with other sectors and functions.
  • Help manage litigation or arbitration cases and any other disputes.
  • Collaborate closely with other members of Legal & Compliance in the US and globally.
  • Manage relationships with external law firms when specialized expertise or additional resources are required, including budgeting and managing spend.

Education and experience
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and a membership in a State Bar.
  • A Minimum of 12 years of legal experience (some in-house experience preferred).
  • Direct experience in negotiating business transactions, with a strong preference for candidates with experience negotiating complex commercial supply chain agreements.

  • Excellent business acumen and people skills with a strong background in commercial law and the demonstrated ability to advise stakeholders on business and legal issues, and advocate on the company's behalf.
  • Self-starting, flexible, and a team player with a strong work ethic.
  • Enjoy working in a collegial environment and collaborating with others.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environment and a demonstrated ability to successfully multitask. This includes offering timely, efficient and practical advice, and exercising good business judgment.
  • Experience in, and knowledge of, the semiconductor and semiconductor equipment manufacturing industry, are preferred.
