General Description:
Responsible for layout and design of all assigned custom cabinet orders without the need for close oversight. The Senior Layout Technician is responsible for transforming the customer order to an accurate manufacturing drawing and blueprint which is utilized in the production of the cabinet and related components and checking the work of less-experienced team members. Serves as mentor and coaches other team members.
Essential Functions:
- Transform customer orders to accurate manufacturing drawings utilizing computer layout/design software by reading and interpreting customer supplied blueprints and schematics.
- Assist customers with design and engineering of ordered items using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches, and develop alternative solutions.
- Reviews the work of other team members, identifying needed corrections and providing feedback.
- Develop strong partnership with customers by providing superior customer experience in all written and verbal communications, following company guidance in customer interactions including frequent use of video conferencing tools.
- Document customer interactions and preferences in customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Distribute documents for final sign-off to customers and follow-up as needed.
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team to consistently accomplish assigned production goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prioritize, organize, and use time efficiently.
Non-Essential Functions:
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Utilize knowledge and experience to provide construction methodology and time estimates to quoting team.
- Serve as subject matter expert for assigned category of products. E.g. appliances, lighting, etc.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma Required.
- Computer Aided Drafting/Design: 2+ years Required. Microvellum experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity in cabinet construction, layout and design preferred.
- Demonstrated Computer competency to perform essential functions listed above.
- Must be focused and attentive to details and possess excellent organizational skills.
- Must be able to function with interruptions and still meet deadlines.
- Proven proactive issue identification, analysis and resolution skills.
- Able to adjust and adapt communication style with a wide variety of customers.
