Lochmueller Group is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our Roadway/Highway Design team. We are looking for a technical expert who is passionate about roadway/highway Design Engineering, enhancing the quality of projects, and mentoring junior level staff.

We provide multi-disciplined services for a variety of public agencies and private entities, including transportation design; water resources design; environmental analysis & permitting; construction engineering & inspection; traffic engineering & transportation planning; surveying; and land acquisition & appraisal. Our transportation design team offers a variety of services, but most of our work involves roadway and bridge design for various local public agencies and state DOT's.

In this position, the candidate will:
- Perform quality control checks of work developed by junior staff.
- Provide mentorship and development for junior staff.
- Manage project status with regards to the scope of services being provided by company staff and sub-consultants, as well as the project budget and the project schedule.
- Report project status to immediate supervisor and/or management.
- Organize the workflow within the assigned design team and take responsibility for the timely completion of the tasks assigned.
- Design and guide the implementation of construction plans and specifications.
- Perform verification that project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications.
- Participate in firm-wide quality control initiatives.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules for contract development.
- Coordinate with other departments and sub-consultants to allocate project scope and develop budget and schedule proposals.
- Assist with business development efforts and prepare statements of qualifications and letters of interest.
- As opportunities present themselves, this role may also be involved in other various responsibilities and projects.
Qualifications for this role:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- 12+ years of experience performing as a project engineer or project manager on local agency and/or DOT roadway projects
- Licensed Professional Engineer
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and mentor junior level staff
