We are seeking a Design Engineer who will be responsible for the design of products, manufacturing equipment, test equipment, tooling, and more. The candidate must be eager to learn new skills and eager to contribute to a team-oriented environment. Must be highly organized, ambitious, driven, attentive to detail, efficient, proactive, and high performing under pressure.

Required Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, with manufacturing experience.
- Thorough knowledge of machine design, CAD, tooling, machine installation, and development PFEMA.
- Must have prior project continuous improvement experience.
- Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and problem solve
- Good written/oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft office programs and Outlook)
- 45-hour work week minimum

Desired Qualifications:
Prior engineering experience in a manufacturing environment. Working knowledge of PLC Programming is a huge plus as well as GML, Servo Systems, and robotics. Prior leadership role(s)/skills preferred.
Job Duties:
- Evaluate and manage capital and CI projects in a time-critical environment.
- Provide analysis, evaluation, and review of problems regarding automation, advanced methods and equipment, material handling, layout, and material flow.
- Provide alternative solutions to anticipated or actual technical and/or business-related manufacturing problems.
- Develop safeguards and improve team member safety through process improvements.
- Provide training as well as troubleshooting assistance to production and maintenance team members.
- Develop new equipment specifications, tooling, and other associated requirements.
- Redesign existing equipment or design new equipment, coordinating its fabrication, assembly, installation and startup as needed.
- Provide daily support to hourly maintenance personnel.
- Support the operation of all mechanical functions of the plant process.
- Actively and aggressively support all plant policies and procedures
- Supervision of associates to include training and development, communication and enforcement of company policies and procedures, performance coaching and evaluation; create and issue written documentation of employee performance issues and attendance issues.
- Investigate issues related to quality and efficiency and resolve them when possible. Involve the Quality Manager and Production Manager as needed. Report unresolved issues to the Quality Manager and Production Manager
- Monitor production equipment and report all machine failures to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure department associates’ safety awareness; strive for continuous improvement in injury reduction.
- Manage engineering associates assigned to the department
- Maintain department and meet expected housekeeping goals.
- Ensure PPE expectations are being met/followed daily by all associates
- Perform other miscellaneous jobs as requested by General Manager
- Willingness to assist in any and all areas needed as directed by General Manager
