The Maryland Department of Transportation The Secretary's Office (MDOT TSO) is seeking to fill a position for the Senior IT Project Manager (Administrator V). Responsibilities include the management of major information technology and telecommunications projects, defined as those with a life cycle cost of $1,000,000 or more or those designated as such by the Secretary of Transportation, the Secretary of Budget and Management, or the Governor. Such projects are highly complex technically, require mastery of different technologies for different projects, and usually affect all MDOT agencies, thus adding project team leadership complexity to that of the technical nature.
The Senior IT Project Manager (Administrator V) is responsible for the successful completion of projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with defined specifications. This position operates under a matrix organizational structure where formal lines of authority are replaced with deterministic authority spanning various functional units of the organization for the duration of a project's life cycle. The incumbent will work closely with contractors and the user community.

Special Requirement:
Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficient in using industry standard agile software and acting as a SCRUM Master for Agile projects
- Possess a working knowledge of systems development life cycle methodologies and contractor practices
- Knowledgeable in transportation operations
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to resolve project problems
