Department Overview
The Americas Division (“AD”) was established in the Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, Limited, New York Branch) (“SMTBNY”) to perform corporate functions and supervise U.S. entities. Established under the AD are the “Global Banking Unit (“GBU”), Americas Division” and “Global Markets Unit (“GMU”), Americas Division” which performs business functions. Management (“MGT”) applies advanced knowledge of the Bank to implement processes and procedures and achieve strategic goals.
Position Overview
Provide timely and appropriate advice to NYIAD to improve the efficiency of its operations and the quality of its Internal Audits, utilizing the Internal Audit work experience and human network cultivated thus far.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support and advice to NYIAD's activities as follows.
- Review applications and reports prepared by NYIAD for conformity with the policies, procedures, and standards of HOIAD and/or the Americas Division.
- Perform such other activities as may be necessary and/or reasonable to support and provide advice to NYIAD's activities.
- Assist in dealing with regulatory inspectors and external auditors.
- To cooperate with HOIAD to introduce an area supervision framework within the Americas Division.
- Attend NYIAD’s meetings and participate in regular meetings with HOIAD.
- To contribute to global Internal Audit activities.
- To perform such other duties as requested by HOIAD.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).
- Substantial knowledge of banking risk management and compliance.
- Considerable knowledge of the policies and procedures developed by HOIAD.
- Considerable knowledge of GRC tools (Archer).
- At least 5 years of Internal Audit experience in banking.
