Job description

Under the general direction of the State Fleet Asset Manager (Staff Services Manager II) of OFAM's State Fleet Asset Management Program, the SIAE is responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring the Inspectors of Automotive Equipment (IAE) assigned to a large geographical area (Region 1) performing inspection services of state owned vehicles and mobile equipment utilizing computer, Fleet Focus, SharePoint and a variety of on-line programs/resources and office equipment.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

Desirable Qualifications In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
• Experience using a personal computer, printer, and smartphone.
• Experience filling out forms and writing emails and letters using the following programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, Fleet Focus, or another fleet system, and using search engines such as Chrome and Edge.
• Ability to learn new technologies and/or programs as introduced and adopted by OFAM.
• Experience evaluating motor vehicles and general use mobile equipment and facilitating the disposal and/or re-utilization of state assets between state agencies or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel throughout an assigned area.
• Ability to act professionally at all times, resolve discrepancies tactfully, and effectively represent the department to internal and external stakeholders and vendors.
• Experience and/or training related to supervision of personnel in the automotive field.
