Job Purpose: Inspects finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, and assemblies for conformance to company standards. Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in process and finished product, using a variety of testing devices, statistical control and implementation of procedures to maintain product quality. Works with engineering to maintain quality standards and correct non-conformances among products.
Responsibilities: include but are not limited to the following: (Must meet all requirements of entry level QC inspector plus the following):
• In-depth knowledge of products and production processes • Knowledge of statistical control, design and testing procedures
• Willingness to share knowledge freely with Entry Level technicians to increase their inspection skills
• Develop measurement plans in FMP, such as Inspection Master and First Article Reports.
• Update and maintain all FMP records on a continual basis.
• Assist MFG Machinist in determining the steps necessary to bring an out of tolerance component into specification.
• Communicate on a regular basis with engineering to determine component acceptability.
• Work with Supplier Manager and outside vendors to resolve quality issues
• Ability to develop a measurement plan and create an automated program for the CMM.
• Work with assembly to determine the root cause of assembly failures on the line
• Test product and document results as required by Engineering.
Job Requirements:
• Ability to read and understand complex blueprints.
• Ability to accurately measure parts using precision hand tools.
• Strong communication skills. (Written and verbal English)
• Strong attention to details.
• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
