Cornerstone Building Brands is achieving above market growth and our Human Resource team is at the forefront of this work. We are looking for a high-performing Senior HR Manager to lead the HR team and support the manufacturing leadership team at our Rocky Mount, Virginia facility in building a culture that aligns with the company’s goal of being the premier building product provider in North America. A key element in being the premier provider in the US is having the best talent management and people related processes in the industry. This role will be expected to deliver high quality results in guiding leaders to develop high performing teams and developing team members for career growth. Successful candidates must demonstrate critical thinking ability, sound judgement, effective organizational skills, great communication skills, a desire to help, grace under pressure, and personal resilience. Subject-matter expertise of applicable employment law is a requirement. This position reports the Director, Human Resources.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This role partners with all levels of employees, primarily people managers, to identify and deliver solutions to enhance the employee experience and support the business strategy through HR activities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships as a trusted partner and employee advocate, in support of developing the optimal culture to drive performance, retention and engagement, safety and wellness
  • Collaborate with department leaders and their teams to ensure talent strategies are linked to our business priorities, support individual team members, departmental, and plant-wide ambitions
  • Responsible for delivering high-quality HR service and supporting a broad range of HR responsibilities
  • Inform HR priorities; evaluate demand for new or adjusted HR offerings from business or trends
  • Execute change readiness activities to prepare for future challenges and business growth
  • Collaborate with broader HR team to execute existing and new HR solutions and capabilities to support business objectives
  • Help achieve financial goals by executing lifecycle people solutions
  • Partner on hiring and development and advancement of team members; this includes working with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to fill open positions, onboard new hires and build strong internal and external pipelines
  • Support change management efforts, nurture our culture and create unique team member experiences
  • Understand external trends in the marketplace and make recommendations on how those could affect internal employees
  • Employ various assessment methods to gain a clearer view of the site’s health, risks, and culture shifts
  • Oversee and take a proactive approach to Employee Relations, and make recommendations by providing guidance, interpreting policy and issue resolution
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field required
  • 8 or more years in progressive HR with heavy hourly employee populations
  • 3 or more years of experience having direct accountability for a team
  • Proven track record of HR leadership with regards to employee experience and business strategy support
  • A proven track record leading transformational change in manufacturing processes, leadership, culture, and team member development
  • Demonstrated ability delivering high-quality HR service and supporting a broad range of HR related activities
  • Experienced leading HR team members and developing them towards high performance
  • Experience participating on cross-functional teams and driving decision-making
  • Experience overseeing people related metrics
  • Requires minimal travel (10%).
  • All Microsoft Office products; HCM or HRIS knowledge required

Develops a deep commercial knowledge of key business drivers and builds relationships across the enterprise, appropriately balancing business objectives and compliance with applicable policies or laws. Integrates the function and brings added rigor and engagement.

Employee Relations – Strong critical thinking skills, including the ability to effectively lead investigations to ensure all facts are considered to drive appropriate actions. An experienced, leader who demonstrates the ability to coach and guide leaders through conflict with the goal of creating a premier work environment.
