Senior HR Generalist
Position Summary
The Senior HR Generalist’s core purpose is to provide trusted support to our internal team, execute people initiatives, and lead HR process improvement. This role is critical in ensuring we have the right people, in the right seats, doing the right things. We’re looking for someone who possesses the knowledge and experience to complete necessary HR-related tasks, while utilizing the soft skills needed to support our employees in their “GR Metrology journey” from recruitment to retirement. We need someone comfortable balancing compliance and flexibility, processes and emotional intelligence, and advocacy for both our internal team and the company as a whole. How You’ll Make An Impact
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding:
  • Lead our full-circle recruitment process: job needs analysis and job description creation, internal/external recruitment, hiring and selection process, and completion of pre-employment requirements, as needed.
  • Develop talent pipeline; may include participation in industry organizations and events, attending career fairs, and maintaining relationships with local talent organizations.
  • Own the onboarding process to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Facilitate and participate in employee terminations with accurate and timely documentation.
Internal Team Support:
  • Guide our internal team as a trusted resource for all HR-related questions and concerns.
  • Participate in safety initiatives, facilitate accident/injury/near miss reporting, and manage workers compensation claims to ensure proper documentation and resolution.
  • Advise managers/employees on conflict resolution, job-related performance conversations, development plans and the interpretation of company policies.
  • Conduct internal investigations on people-related situations for the purpose of reaching resolutions and properly documenting our processes to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and leadership to ensure alignment on culture, strategy and company policies.
Company Support:
  • Lead the development and improvement of company policies and programs, including updating and maintaining our employee handbook and other company policy documents.
  • Facilitate performance management, promotion, and compensation review processes including modifying job descriptions, analyzing industry and territory salary data and providing recommendations.
  • Manage annual Benefits Open Enrollment process with our insurance partner and support ongoing benefits administration including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual evaluation of policies for quality of benefits and cost effectiveness.
Compliance/Administration:
  • Respond to external requests for employment verification, unemployment claims, background and drug testing, required government employment reporting, etc.
  • Own the organization, implementation and ongoing management of HRIS system.
  • Act as a backup to payroll processing.
  • Oversee attendance policy enforcement and tracking and provide guidance to managers on disciplinary actions, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment practices and requirements. The expectation is that this role will remain current in knowledge of existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising leadership on action or company policy changes to remain compliant.

Experience & Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years HR Generalist experience, PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
  • Experience with HRIS systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Background with broad knowledge and experience in employee relations, training & development, employment compliance (safety knowledge/experience a plus but not required)
