The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious ­­­­­Senior HR Advisor, Compliance Specialist to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Cranston, RI. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is a remote position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Serve in a consultative role by providing advice and guidance to clients on a wide range of HR topics, regulations, and employee relations issues.
  • Advise on appropriate protocol for client employee relations issues, investigations, and other instances of conflict, and develop documentation and recommendations.
  • Conduct investigations for high-risk employment issues, including policy interpretation and in-depth analytical study.
  • Support clients during employee separation meetings and assist with the preparation of any required documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive written reports, to include findings, recommendations, and summary of relevant evidence.
  • Collaboratively work with clients to create solutions from a holistic HR systems and process thinking perspective to limit risk exposure.
  • Lead and project manage compensation benchmarking and pay equity projects.
  • Participate in on-going training to gain in-depth knowledge about the nuances of pay equity, including analytics methods and state specific equity laws.
  • Serve as an escalation point for HR Advisors when responding to client inquiries through the HRQ Case Management system (the “Q”) and directly respond to Tier 4 Q cases when needed.
  • Provide advisory and consultancy services to clients on establishing programs on AAPs and report filing requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive affirmative action plans tailored to meet client needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their organizational structure, workforce demographics, and business goals.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state EEO, and OFCCP regulations and affirmative action policies/procedures.
  • Manage periodic certifications of AAP contract compliance requirements and obligations.
  • Analyze workforce data to identify underrepresented groups and establish goals for hiring, promotion, and retention.
  • Proactively work with clients to track progress and measure the effectiveness of the actions the client has taken to ensure compliance.
  • Project manage timely submission of government reporting projects, such as EEO-1, VETS-4212, and other state pay data reporting requirements, from launch to close out
  • Write industry related content on AAP compliance, and governmental reporting requirements
  • Lead or participate in client focused webinars on compliance and government reporting
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide training to internal HR Advisors
  • Generate and maintain documentation of work progress and other information, utilizing internal project management tools as appropriate
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities for other HR consulting solutions
  • Stay abreast of AAP compliance, government reporting and HR compliance requirements
  • Act as an internal liaison on cross functional team projects and client inquiries

Qualifications:

  • Education - Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 10-15 years’ related HR and/or consulting experience
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of state and federal AA/EEO policies and guidelines, and government reporting legislation.
  • Project management experience, i.e., implementing a project from conception to completion.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to detect inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new technology quickly and easily.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with diplomacy and excellent judgment.
  • Experience in interpreting, advising, analyzing, and implementing policies and procedures and reporting.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and providing feedback.
  • Demonstrated experience in investigations and complaint resolution.
