As a Senior Funding Specialist, you will:
  • Work independently and conduct project assessments to ensure that all funding available for various programs is utilized to its maximum potential; that projects with the greater needs are addressed and funded properly; and that funding actions are processed promptly.
  • Independently resolve funding issues considered atypical, keeping the Division Director and Branch Chiefs informed of the situation and progress towards resolution.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues that may conflict with changing regulations, past precedents, current policies, and procedures.
  • Receive assignments through the Division Director or Branch Chiefs and independently perform the funding control functions for the office, monitor expenditures and balances, and prepare funding requests with appropriate explanation and guidance.

The official duty station for this position will be in Boston, Massachusetts. Failure to report to duty at this location may be grounds for a disciplinary action, including removal.
Key Requirements:
  • Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Must successfully complete a background investigation.
  • Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
  • Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For the GS-13 level, specialized experience is at least one year of experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. Specialized experience includes:
  • Comprehensive knowledge of administrative and technical work as relative to funding principles, practices, methods and techniques for the processing, maintaining and tracking of all Multifamily housing funding assignments; AND
  • Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and precedents applicable to funding; AND
  • Independently and proactively identifying issues that could cause a delay in the receipt of funding at the project level and initiating prompt corrective action and intervention.

Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
