Senior Full-Stack Application Engineer

Create and enhance applications that are modernizing the Investment industry!
Vanguard's Fund Document Generation Team is looking for an experienced Full Stack Application Engineer. You will have the opportunity to work on the latest AWS capabilities by interacting with various teams to help remove dependencies on various external IT initiatives happening across Vanguard. You will also have an opportunity to mature our operational excellence metrics and being in innovation using some of the AI capabilities available in products we use. Responsibilities as a Senior Engineer:

• Provide senior level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases. Integrates third party products.
• Translate technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Write programs, develop code, test artifacts, and produce reports. Employ software development techniques to ensure tests are implemented in a way that support automation.
• Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow-up production support. Submit change control requests and documents.
• Thoroughly understand software development methodology and development architecture standards. Train and mentor staff with less experience.
• Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Explain technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients. Perform systems analysis activities.
• Thoroughly understand client business functions and technology needs. Have a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that collaborate with business area and systems.
• Collaborate with multi-functional team members, and communicates systems issues at the appropriate technical level for each audience.
• Thoroughly understand and follow Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, verifying that work meets requirements.

Programming languages & skills:

• Java
• Angular
• AWS (Dynamo DB, S3, ECS Fargate)
• GraphQL

Nice to have experience:

• SRE Practices and experience in Financial Industry preferred
• Experience developing REST and GraphQL microservices
• Experience with API management platforms, design standards, and patterns
• AEM experience
• OpenText ExStream Experience preferred
