Responsibilities
This position is on a program that is at the forefront of developing and operating Geospatial Intelligence analysis software. This team builds and maintains an exceptionally powerful platform enabling our users to address challenging real-world problems by converting disparate data into actionable information. They work directly with operational users to design, develop, and maintain capabilities that empower analysts to create actionable intelligence from the massive volumes of Geospatial Intelligence data to give our intel and combat organizations the decision advantage over our near-peer adversaries.
As a Front-End Software Developer, you will collaborate with multiple scrum teams to develop immersive user interfaces using Svelte, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript. You will ensure a seamless user experience by actively engaging with cross-functional teams. As a thought leader within the team, your role is to drive innovative approaches and strategies that enhance our front-end development practices. You will contribute significantly to the optimization of code, focusing on achieving maximum performance and efficiency. Additionally, your role includes mentoring junior developers and playing a key part in forming highly effective, collaborative teams.
Qualifications
Required Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies
- An active Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance, preferably with CI polygraph
- Five (5) years of experience in software development (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance) required.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field in lieu of a degree.
- Experience as a software engineer with user interface (UI) development in Angular, React, Svelte, or similar framework.
- Hands-on experience with TypeScript or JavaScript.
- Experience creating and maintaining Enterprise web applications and integrating back-end services.
- Strong experience in CSS and creating page layouts using component libraries and toolkits.
- Experience with Product and Product design teams to understand the technical challenges of features, as well as determining the feasibility and viability of feature sets and requests.
- Strong experience with coding best practices, guidelines, and standards; ensuring that all code is tested from end-to-end.
- Experience working closely with internal and external APIs and back-end engineers to establish best practices for models and contracts.
- Experience with task runners and building frameworks to develop and evolve CI/CD.
Preferred Experience, Education, Skills & Technologies
- Knowledge of architecture styles and APIs including REST and SOAP.
- Understanding of GIS concepts (ESRI tools, OGC standards).
- Experience working with CI pipelines (GitLab & Jenkins).
- Experience with ElasticSearch and Kibana.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment.
- Experience working in a SAFe Agile environment.
- CompTIA Security + certification

Pay Rate
- The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000 - $205,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Criterion Systems considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
