Senior Financial Planning Analyst

DESCRIPTION

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Financial Planning & Analyst to join our Finance team. We are looking for a highly motivated, analytically minded individual to help the organization make thoughtful business decisions. This role will be a key member of the Finance team and must be willing to roll up your sleeves and get going quickly with a positive demeanor. You should have a passion for improvement in execution, thrive in a team environment, be detail oriented and have strong finance modeling and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Provide financial and business insights and recommendations that support (i) executive decision making and (ii) high-visibility, cross functional strategic initiatives

● Build and enhance financial models, management reports, reporting tools , and dashboards to improve accuracy, efficiency, and overall visibility of financial data

● Role will include P&L budgeting / forecasting, scenario modeling, executive summaries and decks, project management of Finance related initiatives, and various ad-hoc analytical projects.

● Analyze, and interpret P&L including bookings, revenue and expenses / headcount, while using financial and operational metrics to provide data-driven insight and analytics

● Perform monthly and quarterly financial and operational reporting for short and long-term forecasting, review strategic business investments, and analyze our regional performance

● Understand complex financial problems and provide explanations and solutions that are sound and clearly communicated; Conduct deep dives into particular expense or revenue lines to understand their drivers and potential levers to enhance financial performance

● Assist with yearly planning initiative and regular updates to the financial models

● Lead the analysis of validating unit economics on current and new initiatives

● Identify and track appropriate performance measures, key performance indicators and associated drivers, proactively partner with accounting team to understand forecast variance drivers, identify risks/opportunities, and provide strategic insights

● Support budgeting & forecasting and drive monthly, quarterly, and yearly end close processes & reporting

● Work with various business partners in creating and reviewing annual financial targets

● Interact and develop relationships with teams and leaders across all functions and operating units of the company

● Assist with cross departmental analysis needed to drive the business forward

● Proactively communicate areas of concern and recommend actions required to meet financial commitments

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required; MBA, other advanced degrees, CPA, or CFA is a plus

● Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or a related role; investment banking, consulting, or investment research experience

● In-depth knowledge of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, valuation, and variance analysis techniques

● Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into insights and actionable recommendations

● Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills

● Experience with financial software and data visualization tools including Hyperion or Power BI

● Advanced experience in PowerBI / SQL reporting build outs

● Experience working within the industry of Ecommerce and Manufacturing
