Senior Powertrain Analyst
Job Description
About the role:
The Senior Powertrain Analyst will perform Modeling and Simulation to support the development of conventional, hybrid electric and fully electric powertrains for ground vehicles.
Position Responsibilities:
Analysis Tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Simulation of torque blending in parallel hybrid system.
- Controller/logic tuning for fuel consumption, charging and vehicle range.
- Thermal models of power electronics, batteries, and powertrain components.
- Battery Management System modeling.
- Multidomain powertrain models coupling engine, e-machine, batteries, and electronic components.
- Development of toolsets for evolving architectures.
Position Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
- Simulation experience using Matlab/Simulink required.
- Proven history in the development, correlation, operation and maintenance of analytical toolsets.
- Experience in interrogation and manipulation using 3D Modeling software
- CFD and/or FEA experience preferred on commercially available and proprietary software.
- Automotive and Heavy-Duty vehicle experience required.
- Excellent analytical skills to appropriately size subsystems and components
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Mind-set to work collaboratively in a team environment for program success.
- Proven skills in the development of technical documents and oral communication.
