Job Description:
Provide Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and technical and administrative support for and on the behalf of the Plant/or Plants assigned. Responsible for supporting the Plant(s) Managing Director(s) or Plant Manager(s) in the provision of a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors. Work to achieve continuous improvement in EH&S and to also achieve a high level of EH&S awareness by ensuring that risks in the workplace are properly controlled and that impacts on the environment are minimized. Ensure Operations are aware of developments in the Federal, State, local and Corporate requirements and execute all EH&S disciplines in full compliance of current and all future requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Promote and drive the EH&S mind-set and culture at the assigned company plant(s) as the Occupational Health and Safety Specialist in new launching facilities and plant(s).
• Monitor and maintain compliance to all applicable EBOS, Federal, state, local and other related EH&S requirements.
• Monitor and maintain plant OSHA record keeping.
• Check technical status of plant active/open Workmen's Compensation claims and associated costs supporting HR.
• Prepare, maintain, and report on Monthly EH&S KPI's per requirements.
• Assist in incident investigations, and other related activities as the EHS Specialist.
• Assist and participate in the EH&S Early Alert 8D process; Monitor status to maintain completion within assigned due dates.
• Plan and steward weekly EH&S Committee meetings; maintain meeting records.
• Prepare and deliver EH&S related employee notifications and communications as needed.
• Monitor First Aid Logs and associated reporting and recordkeeping.
• Lead regular planned Plant EH&S walks with the plant Management Team.
• Monitor and maintain the plant EH&S Correction Action Report (EH&S CAR); drive completion of EH&S CAR activities within assigned due dates.
• EH&S representative and participant in all Industrialization, Transfer, and New Program Development related projects and activities.
• Coordinate, schedule and/or administer EH&S training needs per the EHS Training Calendar and maintain EH&S training records.
• Complete EH&S review of new, refurbished, and/or modified plant equipment per the EETAM EH&S Equipment and Tooling Review Process (AME-I-3650).
• Review and authorize all incoming Hazardous Materials per the Hazardous Materials Authorization Procedure (AME-P-3336); Maintenance of SDS indices and books.
• Review and authorize all Hazardous Energy Control (LOTO) task specific procedures for plant equipment and machinery as the EH&S Specialist.
• Provide EH&S review and approval of all plant related CAPEX expenditures.
• Participation and coordination of plant EH&S activities as determined by and necessary for the continued maintenance of the ISO 14001:2004 certification.

Years of Experience:
3-5 Years' Experience
Degree Preferred
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Safety, Health and/or Environmental, Industrial Engineering or a closely related professional field.

• Responsible for continuous improvement in EH&S and to achieve a high level of EH&S awareness by ensuring that risks in the workplace are properly controlled and that impacts on the environment are minimized.
• Perform and document task and equipment specific hazard and risk assessments as necessary and required as the EH&S Specialist.
• Coordination and maintenance of all Plant Emergency Response procedures, evacuation plans, applicable employee training, and performance of routine drills.
• Coordinates and participates in activities and projects and continued maintenance EH&S programs, policies, and initiatives that will improve EH&S awareness and performance.
