Berry Corporation (bry) has an opening for a Senior Enterprise Systems Applications Architect (Reporting) who will oversee the complete process of developing and maintaining customized reporting solutions for the company. Key responsibilities include designing efficient reporting solutions, closely collaborating with business stakeholders to comprehend their reporting needs, selecting the appropriate reporting tool to fulfill those requirements, creating and implementing data models, ensuring data accuracy and integrity, and optimizing performance. This role involves active collaboration with Database Architects, Data Engineers, and Business Analysts to deliver on business priorities. Additionally, tasks encompass building new software from the ground up or utilizing low-code applications, analyzing and modifying existing software, and integrating and automating software systems. The role extends to managing the software development life cycle service, with documentation adhering to best practices and standards. Key Accountabilities
- Works with business and technical stakeholders to understand and document their new and existing reporting needs.
- Leads the design, development, testing, and deployment of reposting tools and software integrations that meet the requirements.
- Designs and analyzes logical data models and collaborates with Data Engineers and Database Administrators to translate them into technical specifications, considering the software service requirements and integrations.
- Reads published technical documentation from software vendors.
- Reuses existing resources when possible, but also researches, evaluates, and prototypes new software components and techniques when needed.
- Provides analysis and specifications of the technical limitations and features of the software, such as load, capacity, security, interoperability, automation, etc.
- Communicates and enforces security requirements for the software, especially identification, authentication, and authorization.
- Provides extended diagnostics and troubleshooting for custom and commercial software and software integrations to resolve problems.
- Reviews and corrects programs across a wide range of different technology platforms and complexities.
- Tests and fixes errors and refines changes to software and databases.
- Coordinates with database administrators, programmers, and analysts to make safe and beneficial changes to software and databases, minimizing negative impacts.
- Coordinates with co-workers to determine the effects of database changes on other systems and staff costs.
- Mentors and coaches less experienced application developers.
- Collaborates with the operational and HSE team to meet area and departmental HSE goals.
- Complies with all the company’s safety and environmental policies, practices, and programs. Takes corrective action within training limits. Escalates as necessary.
- Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and job performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information systems, or a related field required
- Minimum 7+ years of experience with reporting tools and/or low-code app platforms such as Power BI
- Minimum 7+ years of experience with ANSI SQL and/or Oracle SQL
- Minimum 7+ years of experience with Data Architecture including experience with creating and maintaining Data Marts, Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, etc.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience with Reporting Architecture

- Oracle APEX.
- Fundamental knowledge of business financials.
- Experience in Oil and Gas industry.
Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position in California is between $135,960 to $161,453 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that the annual salary information is a general guideline, and that annual salary will vary depending on your location and that Berry Corporation (“Berry”) will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considers when extending an offer. This position is eligible for short-term cash incentive bonus and long-term incentive bonus, excellent benefits including full health benefits, 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting, tuition reimbursement, 9/80 flex schedules, and generous paid time off.
