Senior Electrical Engineer, R&D

The Strategic Robotics team at J&J is hiring for a Senior Electrical Engineer, located in Santa Clara, CA.

At Johnson & Johnson Robotics and Digital Solutions, we're changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers' abilities and improve patients' diagnoses, treatments, and recovery times. As an Electrical Engineer in our team, you will have the autonomy to make architectural decisions, take your design from concept to prototyping, and shepherd it through to final product release.

In this role you will:

• Own full lifecycle designs of PCAs including design, technical reviews, prototyping, detailed test, engineering documentation, and release.
• Work closely with multi-functional teammates to develop robust electrical architectures for sensing, motion, optical, and thermal systems.
• Test and validate at both component and subsystem levels. Testing includes standalone test via fixturing, EMI/ESD analyses, and thermal analysis/simulation.
• Be a key member on design reviews, fault safety analysis, and design failure mode analysis.

What we are looking for:

• Complex analog and digital electrical systems design.
• Experience designing for electromagnetic compatibility and immunity, fast transients, and safety-critical applications.
• Knowledge in power electronics; design, component selection and applications.

Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

• Minimum B.S. (Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering field equivalent) with 4+ years of industry experience or; M.S. (Electrical Engineering or other related Engineering field equivalent) with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Proficiency in CAD tools for schematics and PCB layout.
• Familiarity with microcontrollers, hardware design for BLDC motors, and serial communication protocols (including I2C, SPI, etc.).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $116,700.00 to $187,795.
