Location: Concord, CA, 100% on-site.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, this is an Exempt position.
Compensation: $150k to $180k, depending on skill and experience level.

In compliance with Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $150k - $180k. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
Job Summary:
EMCORE Space & Navigation located in Concord, CA is seeking to fill a Senior Electrical Engineer (SEE) role to lead electrical designs from conceptual phase through design completion, meeting all technical requirements imposed by Statement of Requirements (SOR), Statement of Work (SOW), or Performance Specifications (PS). As Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for understanding customer requirements and translating them into effective electrical designs, while providing leadership and technical expertise in mixed circuit design, development, and worst-case analysis of both analog and digital electrical designs. You will be responsible for keeping all aspects of electrical design on track, presenting technical information, generating comprehensive reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems and perform root cause analysis.

Job Duties:
- This position is Full time, Permanent, and 100% on-site in Concord, CA.
- Determine electrical subsystem architecture of major subsystems from Statement of Work (SOW).
- Prepare technical proposals and associated estimates as assigned; review and approve Electrical Engineering Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical designs into larger systems.
- Apply knowledge and experience to complex projects, find non-standard design solutions.
- Modify and update current analog and digital designs to solve electronic part obsolescence issues.
- Coordinate and review presentation material to be presented at Program Management
- Reviews (PMR), Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM), and design reviews.
- Estimate manpower needs and schedule work of other Electrical Engineers to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction in the area of Electrical Engineering practice to less experienced engineers.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7-10 years Electrical Engineering experience with demonstrated experience in the design, analysis, and troubleshooting of complex circuits, schematics, block diagrams, and FPGA and ASIC circuits (vast experience in various analog/digital/signal integrity analysis tools and printed circuit board design. ORCAD or similar experience required.
- Extensive experience in the design, program, test, and troubleshooting of electronics parts and assemblies.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
- 4 years minimum background in space, aerospace and/or military industry.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to communicate to all levels of the organization.
Minimum Education:
- BS required; MS desired in Electrical Engineering discipline.
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience on one or more aspects of design, development, production, & test of sensor systems, inertial navigation systems, spacecraft, & space missions.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in electrical design.
- Prior experience in circuit simulation software, PSPICE/TINA/LTSPICE, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) design software, OrCAD Capture, MATLAB, or equivalent.
- Strong team player with the ability to consider input from supervisors, coworkers, and cross-functional teams.
