Arcadis is seeking a Senior EHS Specialist to join our Places Infrastructure team in the Philadelphia, PA area. This position is located on client site.

Role description:
As a Senior EHS Specialist you will survey active construction sites of capital projects for compliance or non-compliance with safety standards, assist with the review of contractor submitted safety documentation to include job safety analysis, and reporting of audit findings for corrective actions and metric reporting.
Role accountabilities:
- Monitor the contractor's field activities to verify the work is being performed in compliance with approved safety plan, client policies and industry best practices.
- Review and recommend revisions, as required, to client's construction safety procedures.
- Assist with quarterly safety meetings with contractor safety personnel;
- Develop / maintain strong working relationships with contractor safety representatives
- Report all serious on-site conditions, near misses or incidents to the EHS and Project Managers and Delivery Lead.
- Exercise stop work authority if serious conditions or behaviours are identified.
- Assist the EHS Manager as requested to prepare action plans for reported safety deficiencies
- Conduct safety risk assessments for each project to identify potential project risks prior to construction.
- Lead near misses/incident investigations and prepare or obtain accident and incident reports for submission to client.
- Complete and file project safety inspections (including hot work permits, lock out tag out, crane certifications, etc.).
- Recognize best safety practices and report to Arcadis Project Managers and EHS Manager
- Review contractor safety performance to confirm contractor safety programs meet minimum client requirements for work on site.
- Conduct management monitoring audits to measure project compliance with the client's Safety Systems of Work
- Confirm contractor key competencies for high-risk work
- Recognize contractors for positive behaviour and safety performance.
- Train project managers, EHS Permit specialists and contractors on general and supplemental permit requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Health Sciences, Construction Management or related field
- 5 + years of experience provide safety management of capital construction projects
- Field safety experience including monitoring compliance and submitting incident reports

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $142,000.
