Job Summary
The primary objective of this full time, entry-level position is to work with the EHS Manager in protecting people, the environment, and equipment from unnecessary harm and assist in regulatory compliance responsibilities while proactively promoting the protection of human health, facilities, food safety, security, and work environment by maintaining regulatory OSHA and EPA compliance. This person will be a professional resource for all levels of employees while providing support services on environmental, health, safety, and security.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist EHS Manager and EHS Engineer with maintaining all applicable OSHA mandated Programs and Standards in master policy manual.
- Act on or assist employees with general concerns by making recommendations to appropriate personnel to implement a change.
- Enter training records into tracking software, run training reports, schedule training sessions, administer / participate in new employee orientation.
- Purchase order of safety and environmental supplies including signage, PPE, site-specific projects, seasonal items
- Enter Safety Data Sheets into online system
- Support EHS Engineer with maintaining Chemical Inventory records
- Support EHS Engineer to coordinate, co-facilitate and track site monthly / annual trainings
- Support EHS Engineer to coordinate, co-facilitate, and track contractor trainings
- Support EHS Engineer with Workers Comp. claims / entries / medical records
- Assist with creating EHS and specialized trainings
- Maintain optimum recordkeeping, EHS files, audits records (electronically and hard-copy)
Equipment
- Keep inventory of safety equipment and assist in quoting and purchase requests.
- Perform safety spot checks and daily walk-through safety inspections.
- Assist in creating a new safety equipment / safety review process.
- Audit safety / environmental equipment and materials for quality assurance
Inspections
- Assist Safety Manager with department safety checklists and inspections.
- Perform Job Safety Assessments and Job Hazard Analyses
- Develop and implement safety job boards.
- Complete job site safety audits to recognize and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
- Assist with and complete environmental inspections and audits.
Safety Teams
- Co-facilitate and participate in Safety Team and Safety Committee meetings with EHS Engineer
- Develop agenda and distribute meeting minutes and attendance to site management team.

Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. / B.A. degree in environmental / safety, public health administration, or closely related discipline.
- Demonstrates the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience (2-4 years) in an administrative, education and/or coordination role (safety / environmental field is a plus)
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Can work independently and self-started.
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal compliance standards preferred.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including SharePoint, Powerpoint, Excel, Teams)
- Experience with Asana and Acadia preferred and is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
