Costco is looking for a dedicated Senior Ecommerce QA Lead to join its International eCommerce QA team. This role oversees the processes, practices, and execution of both manual and automated UAT, BAT, and Regression testing for all countries deployed on the Costco International SAP Commerce solution. These practices must be managed within Costco Confluence/JIRA (or other approved repository) and adhered to globally. This role will be required to oversee the execution of these practices for every release by every country.

ROLE

Designs, develops, and executes software test strategies, test plans, and test scripts.

Confirms accuracy and completeness of functional, integration, system, end to end, and acceptance test plans.

Designs, creates, and approves (or oversees the creation and approval of) project test cases, scripts, and conditions, as well as QA-related documentation.

Develops and ensures adherence to standardized software quality assurance best practices, policies, processes, and controls as it pertains to the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Develops and communicates accurate project estimates based on testing dependency analysis as requested by the project/management team.

Analyzes and determines test dependencies including QA environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans, and communication processes.

Analyzes relevant business content and participates in requirement gathering sessions; provides input on requirement and design documents; assesses requirements for testability, clarity, purpose, inherent ambiguity, contradictory functions, and implementation.

Develops, documents, and leads the Defect Management process.

Ensures test cases are traceable to originating story/requirement and those tests fully test feature requirements and/or user story acceptance criteria.

Manages defects appropriately by assigning, monitoring, and providing timely communication through the defect lifecycle.

Conducts QA risk management process throughout the test plan phase defining and differentiating between risk, defect, and issue.

Assists teammates in growing and developing the skills necessary to grasp application concepts and tool suite.

Identifies and resolves problems, often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow; develops and evaluates options and implements solutions.

Coordinates and oversees test team activities for in-house, onshore, and offshore testing of multiple initiatives.

Participates in requirements and user story review; ensures the appropriate acceptance criteria are included and approved globally.

Creates and gains project approval on project test plans.

Creates and/or oversees the creation and approval of project test cases and QA-related documentation.

Executes tests and records results; works with others to identify and resolve defects.

Assists with automating and executes automated test cases.

Oversees or generates all QA-related documentation.

Ensures adherence to standardized QA policies, processes, and documentation standards.

Ensures that QA processes and procedures for test environments are followed, and that the integrity of the various environments are not compromised.

Executes test cases, defect management, and adherence to test schedule.

Attends and/or facilitates daily standup meetings and provides status updates.

Provides weekly QA project status reports.

Helps to mentor and develop skills in others.

Attends all sprint completion meetings and demos to stakeholders.


REQUIRED

Minimum 5 years’ experience in software testing and leadership capacity.

Minimum 5 years’ functional and back-end testing of eCommerce websites, mobile application, mini program and backend applications.

Minimum 5 years’ hands-on experience using industry standard software QA tools.

Strong knowledge of SDLC and SQA methodology, as well as experience testing on an Agile team.

Experience leading QA teams.

Experience in eCommerce Solutions, specifically SAP Commerce Platforms.

Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem solving skills.

Excellent organizational and planning skills, with experience building tactical plans.

Ability to produce effective software test plans and test cases.

Familiar with source code, version management, and code deployment standards; and ability to utilizes this knowledge.

Solid understanding of build tools and software configuration management standards.

High level understanding of design/development methodologies and project management concepts.

Ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with minimum supervision.

Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization from senior management down to staff level.

Proven leadership skills; demonstrated team-building skills with ability to influence and motivate team members that report to other groups in the organization.

Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and excellent collaboration skills.

Flexible; able to change priorities quickly, focus on new ones without distraction; able to deal with conflict and work under pressure to meet deliverable dates/timelines.

Ability and willingness to travel internationally and adjust work hours to accommodate international teams.

Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the business in a 24x7x365 operations environment - evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Recommended

Degree in Computer Science or in a related technical field preferred.

Experience with projects focused on infrastructures and software solutions.

SQA experience working within an iterative development framework.

Knowledge of French, Spanish, Korean, and Mandarin is a plus.

Proficient in the use of Google products: email, spreadsheet, document, presentation, and analytics.

  • Understanding of web services, SOAP, REST and XML concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with programming languages Flutter and Java.
  • Experience using industry standard software QA and automation tools such as Jenkins, SauceLabs, Selenium, Java libraries Selenium Webdriver, Cucumber BD, Appium and REST Assured.

Pay Ranges:

Level 3 - $105,000 - $135,000

Level 4 - $125,000 - $160,000
