Job Title:
Senior Director, Professional and Workforce Education

Salary:
Offered salary is Pay Grade 10-AA and will be consistent with University Policy. Position has a targeted salary of $83,718 plus exceptional comprehensive benefits including medical coverage, paid time off, employer-matched retirement savings and full tuition waivers for employee and employee’s immediate family. Human Resources will conduct a compensation review of the applicant’s education and job experience to determine final pay package.
Basic Function:
Provides leadership and executes Lifelong Learning unit strategy to deliver non-credit learning experiences for Professional and Workforce talent development. Determines areas of educational need for Professional and Workforce skill development by fostering collaborative relationships with corporate, professional, and university leaders. Plans, contracts, prices, and oversees customized and non-customized training programs responsive to market-driven educational needs. Reports to Assistant Vice President, Lifelong Learning.

Examples of' Duties:
Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following:
Form and nurture partnerships with regional business and industry organizations as well as with state and local agencies.
Act as a liaison between Kent State educational units and business, government, economic development, and service organizations for the purpose of non-credit Professional and Workforce talent preparation.
Collaborate and share information related to business and industry organizations with other Kent State units involved in corporate engagement.
Contribute to and utilize a customer relationship management (CRM) database to capture and maintain information to guide relationships.
Plan, develop, price, and oversee customized and non-customized Professional and Workforce skill development training programs, working with internal and external partners.
Ensure that revenue generated via non-credit Professional and workplace skill development training is priced and marketed to be revenue positive for the university.
Collaborate on marketing and outreach planning and execution for the purpose of expanding Kent State’s presence in the talent development marketplace.
Hire qualified instructors for workforce and professional education programs.
Develop proposals and contracts; ensure appropriate expenditure of funds in compliance with contract terms.
Provide direct supervision to unclassified staff.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with seven years of progressive experience managing a revenue-generating marketing outreach function. Demonstrated successful experience in establishing and managing collaborative partnerships with multiple internal and external organizations. Demonstrated successful experience in the fields of talent development, employee development, training and development or a related field.
License/Certification:

Travel regionally
Preferred Qualifications – if applicable:
Master’s degree preferred.
