Starting pay for this position is $141,000.00 per year.

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

The Sr. Director P&C (Field Operations) oversees the overall strategic direction, planning, coordination, administration and evaluation of the people function at the FreshRealm sites across the US. The Sr. Director is responsible for developing and ensuring effective implementation of plans, systems, policies and processes for workforce planning, employee engagement, legal compliance, recordkeeping, and employee relations. This position requires a true strategic people partner who is collaborative and capable of building consensus and commitment toward shared outcomes throughout the business. This role is a direct business partner to the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Supply Chain Officer. Strong business acumen is required to ensure that all of the people plans and strategies are in place to drive and achieve the business objectives. This role is a member of the P&C Leadership Team and works closely with this team to build effective plans and strategies that push the organization to achieve high performance through our people. Individual site P&C Directors, Managers and Generalists rollup to this role and developing this talent is key to FreshRealm's scalability and long term growth.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Objectives of this Role

  • Proactively develops and supports the delivery of People processes at each site.
  • Manages complex and difficult People projects cross-functionally.
  • Builds a strong business relationship with the organization- key partnerships with COO and CSCO.
  • Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks.
  • Assists in recruiting the key talents for the production sites.
  • Ideates and facilitates with leadership teams to bring best solutions for employees.
  • Acts as the performance improvement driver and provokes positive changes in the people management.
  • Designs and maintains organization vitality charts as the performance of each facility improves.
  • Designs succession plans for key talents and key job positions.
  • Challenges the organizational structure of the Operations/CSCO organizations and proposes changes.
  • Active member of the P&C Leadership Team.
  • Manages and leads a team of P&C Partners.
  • Develop and drive talent management strategies to ensure effective staffing alignment with the needs of the business. Create systems to attract talent, identify critical talent needs, develop core competencies and corresponding development opportunities, and engage leadership in succession planning.
  • Identify ways to increase staff retention and productivity, including strategies to enhance employee engagement, leadership and staff development, regular feedback and coaching, career pathing, and promoting a coherent organizational culture that positions FreshRealm as an "employer of choice."
  • Lead the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process, making sure that the organization's managers are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching, collaborate effectively when co-managing staff, and encourage staff to actively participate in identifying and addressing performance gaps.
  • Mitigate legal risk to the organization through proactive training and education, clear systems and processes for managing conflicts with and between employees, handling and investigating complaints of harassment/discrimination and other unjust practice allegations.
  • This role covers the US and will travel to sites strategically to ensure people practices and development of teams is occurring as designed. Depending on where this candidate is located, travel could be up to 50%.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

Skills and Requirements

  • Previous experience as HR Director.
  • Collaborative player coach with strong communication, influence and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to lead and develop a remote team of HR professionals with various levels of expertise.
  • Change Management and Project and Time Management skills are key to success .
  • Strong Business Acumen and leadership abilities.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and other compliance issues.
  • Strong skills in full cycle recruiting.
  • Ability to listen and probe to understand underlying needs and/or root cause of an issue.
  • Ability to provide thoughtful, progressive and strategic guidance.
  • Expertise in analysis, critical decision making, project management, and process improvement.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills, including proficiency in developing and delivering presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems.
  • Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes.
  • Focus on continuous improvement, sharing learnings and trends across P&C to help the organization continue to grow and thrive.
  • Outstanding judgment, sensitivity and high discretion.

  • Building and sustaining positive employee relationships by driving empathy, mindfulness, kindness and inclusivity.
  • Proficiency in Google and Microsoft Suites and HRIS system applications.

Experience / Education

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent years of experience in Human Resources.
  • HRCI and/or SHRM Certification required or attained within one year of hire.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Director level experience in Human Resources, partnering directly with senior leadership to develop, align and implement HR and organizational development strategies.
  • A minimum of 7 years of HRBP/Manager experience supervising and developing staff.
  • Experience implementing strategies and systems for talent management and HR technology.
