As the Senior Director, IT Product Management - Public Sector, you will be in an exciting growth area working on ensuring that Business Technology supports US Public Sector growth! This position will require that you work with many groups at Salesforce: Security Compliance, Industrial Security, Business Technology as well as our Quote to Cash business partners. We are seeking a seasoned product leader who knows how to inspire teams and influence stakeholders to successfully navigate challenging roadblocks. This leader is skilled in coaching teams to find creative technical solutions to complex problems and thrives in a constantly changing, high-impact work environment!
Responsibilities:

  • Product leadership, vision & strategy
    • Develop an overall Product/Service strategic vision in partnership with Business Application Owners, BPG Leads, UX, Engineering, Architecture, and Leadership, and disseminate that strategic vision to all Product Managers within the Product Line to influence Product-Level Roadmap and prioritization.
    • Anticipate and plan future business capabilities according to market trends, user and customer feedback, architectural roadmaps, and performance
    • Provide input on solution vision, strategy and development to Delivery Team in collaboration with Enterprise Architecture and Engineering
    • Accountable for the ROI of investment into the Product Line according to measurable delivery of business value.
  • Stakeholder management
    • Develop trusted relationships with key technology, functional leaders, and collaborators to influence decisions, drive focus on the strategic program objectives, and optimize program delivery. This includes empowering your team to hold resources accountable for their responsibilities within the program.
    • Accountable for owning and driving Business Intimacy between Business Technology and the Business Application Owner, which includes overall relationship health. The relationship must operate as a partnership based on trust and a shared mission to build and deliver value by aligning objectives, interests, and strategies between the two parties.
    • Drive for clarity to keep teams moving forward by taking decisive action
  • Agile execution leadership & collaboration
    • Work with Portfolio Manager and Business Partner Groups on solution prioritization and resource allocation for cross-team initiatives
    • Reviews overall progress and delivery of solutions and communicates solution delivery targets, milestones and achievements to Stakeholders, Customers, Business Partners, and BPG Portfolio Manager.
    • Oversees collaboration with Product Owners, Engineering, UX, and Delivery teams to maintain high standards of product/service performance, backlog health, roadmap planning, and Customer Engagement
    • Manages allocation of capacity to different types of work (KLO, Project/Program, F&E, M&A) within the product line to maintain high user experience, product health, scalability, and delivery of committed initiatives).
    • Apply best-of-breed external and internal tools, and an agile attitude to create a collaborative environment that fosters autonomy, transparency (where possible), expertise, innovation, and learning; promotes continuous improvement
  • People leadership
    • Inspire, empower, and support your team as they grow and stretch in their roles
    • Help your team continuously grow by regularly providing constructive feedback and opportunities for career progression

Required Skills:
  • 12+ years of experience in software product development
  • 10+ years of direct people leadership
  • Experience with CRM implementations and good domain understanding of the Lead-to-Cash and Post Sales processes
  • Track record of successfully building alliances with teams and individuals in a matrixed, multi-stakeholder environment
  • Experience in framing establishing and implementing large-scale (enterprise-level) initiatives
  • Ability to establish credibility and rapport with senior executives and technical and non-technical team members alike
  • Substantial emotional intelligence - can balance the needs of the company and read a situation to understand when to forcefully push something, or give it some space
  • Strong influencing skills with an ability to motivate and drive others to succeed
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with multiple geographically distributed technical functions in the areas of infrastructure, technical operations, software engineering, and security
  • Concise written and verbal communication skills with proven experience presenting to audiences of all sizes and influencing executives to drive decisions

Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with infrastructure requirements, and support processes in environments subject to NIST 800-171, or NISPOM requirements
  • Strong understanding of enterprise software development and infrastructure processes and lifecycle; ability to adjust and apply this knowledge in a dynamic environment using agile or similar methodologies
  • Seasoned leader in corporate communications, presentation, and risk management
  • Agile/Lean experience
  • A related technical degree (e.g., Information Systems Or Computer Science Masters Degree) OR equivalent industry experience
  • Experience creating detailed reporting and dashboards
