As Sr. Director you will report directly to the CMO, overseeing work in on key, exciting growth-driving areas for WEX, including M&A, Ventures, Strategic Marketing Partnerships, and Special Initiatives. You will lead strategy and serve as primary execution lead; leveraging SMEs across marketing to support the work and drive business outcomes.
- Mergers, Acquisitions and Ventures
- M&A: Represent marketing in diligence, target setting and marketing integration planning; and oversee respective marketing SMEs to execute on any announcement-related activities.
- M&A: For all non-mainstreamed brands, oversee the creation and execution of annual marketing plans; with responsibility to achieve the financial and CSAT targets set forth in the business case.
- M&A: Oversee post-acquisition marketing integration work including roles/responsibilities alignment, resource planning, budget management, system and process integration, brand transitions, marketing culture integration, etc.
- Ventures: Serve as marketing liaison with WEX Ventures team and ensure alignment, communication and marketing support is in place to drive success
- Communicate regularly with executive stakeholders and other SMEs on marketing progress and performance
- Oversee, coach and develop marketing staff and contractors (directly or indirectly as defined by business model) to excellence in execution
- Strategic Marketing Partnerships
- Establish and a Strategic Marketing partnerships framework, define annual priorities and oversee the marketing organization to execute and communicate progress accordingly
- Serve as strategy and execution lead for affiliate marketing; negotiating new partnerships that introduce new revenue streams and implementing plans to bring those partnerships to market
- Strategic Initiatives
- Support the CMO in driving opportunistic, yet strategic cross-team initiatives that help us to be agile and responsive to shifts in market dynamics or opportunities; enabling us to meet or exceed our people, customer and financial objectives.
Primary Metrics for Success:
This individual will carry responsibilities for:
- Marketing contribution to revenue targets
- Marketing contribution to cross-sell and market-share targets
- Marketing contribution to retention and CSAT targets
- Effective budget management and forecast accuracy
Required Skills/Experience:
- Prior experience leading strategic M&A planning (during due diligence and integration phases) and execution for marketing
- 15+ years of cross-discipline experience in the marketing field
- 10+ years experience developing strategic, multi-channel marketing plans and delivering on those plans with excellence
- Experience leading high performing teams in direct and virtual capacity
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets effectively
- Excellent communication skills; strong EQ and executive maturity
- Bachelor degree required
