Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced senior attorney to lead Litigation and Regulatory & Compliance. The Sr. Director reports to the Vice President of Legal. The position is based in our Seattle office and you will be required to be on-premise at least 2 days per week. It's an exciting and pivotal time at Stanley! Key Responsibilities
- Lead all Litigation and pre-litigation matters for Stanley, including internal fact investigations, preparing, and filing pleadings with outside counsel, handling discovery, reviewing legal briefs, and preparing cases for trial and/or settlement.
- Litigation matters may include commercial, product liability, class action defense, employment, data and privacy, and personal injury cases.
- This role may also be asked to assist with litigation matters for HAVI's other business units and respond to regulatory inquiries and other high-profile matters for the company.
- Build compliance programs to ensure that Stanley follows applicable laws and regulations.
- Serve as the first point of contact to the Quality and Compliance and Customer Success teams.
- Advise on matters related to the substantiation of claims and product safety, including strategies to minimize and mitigate enterprise risk.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain for supplier and vendor oversight and compliance.
- Support brand protection initiatives, including offensive litigation, criminal investigations, collaborate with Customs and Border Protection, and outreach to online marketplaces.
- Build and deliver training to business teams.
- Manage immigration matters.
- Support ad hoc projects at the request of the VP of Legal.
Who You Are
- Minimum of 10 years validated experience litigating complex, large-scale commercial and consumer Litigation and leading state and federal regulatory investigations and litigation.
- Excellent verbal and written communicator, demonstrating the interpersonal skills required to effectively collaborate with key partners, team members, business leaders, and employees at all levels within the company.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity, excel in a fast-paced environment, and operate with speed, quality, and accuracy as top priorities.
- Enjoy creating and establishing prudent, scalable processes and programs to optimize workflows.
- Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an outstanding ability to simplify concepts and to bring clarity in the face of ambiguity and willing to be innovative in the delivery of legal services.
- A lawyer who has experience building and crafting a Litigation and Regulatory & Compliance team.
- A lawyer with a consistent and validated track record of creating global compliance programs that includes collaboration with cross-functional teams within the business and regionals teams in South America, China Asia Pacific, and Europe Middle East Africa.
- Experience with effective oversight and direction of outside counsel, including lawyers outside of the U.S.
- Excellent command of Excel to build budgets and outside counsel legal expenses and to monitor and report on outside counsel performance.

- Meaningful experience with consumer goods and/or retail companies.
Education and Experience
- Juris Doctor degree, licensed to practice law in at least one state in the U.S.
- 10+ years as an attorney at a nationally recognized law firm and/or an in-house legal department at a company with a recognized consumer brand.
- 10 years of experience with intellectual property, class action, and/or commercial litigation.
- Advanced proficiency with Office 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.

The base pay range for this position is $210,000 - $240,000 for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience. Stanley is a total rewards company, which includes rewards beyond base salary. Full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus, based on company and individual results.
