We are currently looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join one of the group's specialist divisions. This division partners with governments, civil society, foundations, academia, and the private sector, to work on the critical issues of our time, including the climate emergency, social justice, conflict prevention, and sustainable development. We provide a fully integrated, end to end service, combining multi-discipline communications teams with subject matter experts, across the world. Our work is domestic and global, often affecting the most vulnerable in society, with international activity orientated towards conflict affected or developing countries.
This role is based out of our New York office on a hybrid basis, although we can consider fully remote from within the US.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop live and batch data pipelines within AWS utilizing cloud native tools or custom software deployments
- Transition ML models into ETL and enrichment pipelines from external APIs and internal data sources
- Deploy open source tools or build internal dashboards for various ML and analytical dashboards such as data labeling, data visualization, and report generation
- Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data, including data engineering
- Work with team of data scientists to transition existing ad hoc code and Jupyter notebooks into data pipelines in AWS
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features; while preparing and designing internal and client reports on infrastructure
About You:
- Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience.
- Strong competence with Python and Python ecosystem (Poetry, venv, Jupyter, etc). Ability to write object-oriented code.
- Experience working with common databases with a focus on Postgres, MongoDB, and Elastic.
- Competence with basic development tools such as Git, IDEs, Docker, K8s, cloud CLIs, JIRA (or similar), etc.
- Cloud experience with one of the big three (AWS, Azure, GCP). Preference for AWS or GCP. Able to interact with databases, compute, serverless functions (e.g. Lamda and StepFunctions), SMS like tools, and object storage services.
- Basic to advanced experience with core Python data science tools such as Scikit, NLTK, Pandas, Numpy, Pytorch, HuggingFace and/or similar.
- Ability to interact with 3rd party services through APIs and other programmatic means using Python.

Salary is dependent on experience but ranges from $152,000 - $190,000. All candidates must have the ability to work in the US; we are unable to sponsor any work visas for this role.
