About the Position
The Senior Data Scientist is an individual contributor position responsible for continuously improving Hiya's machine learning system. The Senior Data Scientist drives this improvement both at the high level, with input into the architecture of the ML system, but also at a low level by understanding and improving individual elements of the system.
The employee works with a team of scientists, analysts and engineers whose mission is to provide the best system for identifying spam and fraud activity on telecom networks across the globe.

What You'll Do
- All aspects of the predictive model lifecycle; design, training, validation, testing, deployment, monitoring and iterating
- In collaboration with teammates, build tools to automate and standardize machine learning processes
- Build robust data and monitoring pipelines
- Help guide the evolution of our machine learning infrastructure and practice
- Participate in peer review of code and concepts, providing productive feedback and mentorship
Qualities that will make you successful:
- A desire to apply software engineering rigor and best practices to machine learning
- Familiarity with software version control (e.g. Git, SVN, ...)
- Systems level perspective on predictive modeling (i.e. awareness of the ecosystem in which a predictive model operates and succeeds or fails)
- Familiarity with SQL
- Familiarity with a programming language commonly employed in production machine learning (e.g. R, or Python + relevant packages)

You will have a fast start if you have experience:
- Using a cloud machine learning platform, such as AWS Sagemaker
- Working with model lifecycle management tools, such as MLFlow
- Workflow automation tools such as Airflow
- Working with high throughput, low latency predictive systems

The base salary for this role is between $160,000-$190,000 When determining compensation, a number of factors will be considered: skills, experience, job scope, location, and competitive compensation market data.
