UTHealth Houston Neurosciences is hiring for a Senior Credentialing Coordinator to join their team of professionals. The Senior Credentialing Coordinator will be responsible for:
- Licenses and Certifications: ensure that providers maintain current credentials and licenses to work legally in their field/specialty. Oversight of licensing application process, coordinate with new applicants, state agencies, and institutional licensing divisions to ensure timely and efficient license acquisition and renewals. Monitor upcoming renewal dates and work with medical staff to advise them of the required steps to maintain/update their credentials.
- Collect, organize, track, and manage items needed for multiple providers. Including but not limited to diplomas, certificates of completion, CE/CME courses, peer references, transcripts, etc.
- Hospital Privileges: responsible for all aspects of privileging (initial and reappointments) for all clinical providers. Primary point of contact between the hospitals and our providers. Process applications, verify information, and research application details to ensure processes are in accordance with medical staff bylaws. Accurate, timely and documented verification of the information provided by the applicant and maintenance of the highly confidential credentialing-related files.
Previous experience in credentialing, provider relations or in obtaining hospital privileges at Memorial Hermann hospitals is a plus!

Position Summary:
Responsible for supporting and coordinating all provider and physician credentialing activities. The Senior Credentialing Coordinator verifies that all policies and procedures associated with credentialing meets external accreditation, state regulatory requirements, and organizational requirements.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
Certified Professional Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
Current and thorough knowledge of all rules, laws, regulations, accreditation requirements and standards relevant to credentialing. Knowledgeable of NCQA, URAC, and Joint Commission standards and requirements of accreditation. Intermediate proficiency with MS Office software, including Word and Excel. Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize work, perform thorough investigation and follow through on issue resolution with minimal management intervention in a high paced environment. Excellent organizational skills.
Minimum Education:
Associates Degree in related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Minimum Experience:
Five (5) years of credentialing, database management, or medical staff coordination in managed care environment.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.
