The Circulation division of ZOLL Medical Corporation is focused on "beating heart" therapies for hospitals. Post-cardiac arrest, STEMI heart attack, and severe fever are some of the applications of ZOLL's unique devices. Fully integrated, ZOLL Circulation researches, develops, manufactures, and sells novel technologies includes ZOLL Temperature Management Solutions and TherOx SSO2 Therapy. Temperature Management Solutions empower physicians to "prescribe" a temperature and achieve it. TherOx SSO2 Therapy is the first FDA-approved therapy since the stent 20+ years ago to reduce infarct size in patients with the most severe heart attacks.
Job Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining detailed standard costs in the Company's ERP system while also providing cost and inventory analysis in support of operations and finance.
Essential Functions
  • Create and analyze monthly costs entries for General Ledger closings and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze quarterly/annual account analysis reports pertaining to cost including postings, balancing, and reconciliation to the General Ledger and subsidiary accounts.
  • Provide monthly financial closing documentation from a cost perspective.
  • Prepare and analyze cost center/ MFG department expenses for monthly reviews.
  • Work extensively with manufacturing personnel in order to control/analyze standard costs for materials, labor and overhead.
  • Establish, input and control financial inventory flow and standard reevaluations as needed.
  • Track and reconcile units used for evaluations, outside vendor and prepare quarterly E&O.
  • Monitor weekly fluctuations and activity regarding inventory and COGS variances.
  • Manage inventory tracking, inventory control and direct labor cost and absorption analysis.
  • Work together with Operations & Supply Chain to identify potential efficiency improvements.
  • Any other job responsibilities as assigned by management and subject to modification.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in Accounting / Finance, including 3-4 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks simultaneously and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent follow-through and meticulous eye for detail.
  • Strong team player willing to share responsibility to accomplish goals.
  • Computer skills, including Excel, are required.
  • Great Plains/Dynamics preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of MS Dynamics GP a plus.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information.
  • Work effectively with Vendors and Internal customers to resolve issues.
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Adapt to changes in the work environment; manage various demands.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
  • Complete work in timely manner; strives to increase productivity; works quickly.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and general accounting software applications is required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Working knowledge of desktop computer and software programs.

The total compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $140,000k. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skill level.
