SENIOR COST ANALYST

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Be a key contributor to the cost accounting system by managing the standard cost development process and working with stakeholders across departments including accounting, operations and data analytics
- Translate material expenses and other Income Statement transactions into key trends, analyses and reports for Executives
- Manage the development of standard costs for new products and monitor actual performance against these standards
- Analyze the actual production costs and compare to standard costs monthly to report on periodic variances and their underlying causes
- Maintain the cost accounting system (the “COGs Tool”) by monitoring and reviewing cost data; investigating and recommending adjustments to the COGs Tool system to provide results that line up close with monthly income statement data
- Assist in the preparation of key monthly financial reports to the Board of Directors and Executives, which includes analysis of results for key takeaways
- Other duties as assigned or requested by management
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or similar related field
- 5-7 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting standards
- Prior experience with analytics platform (Tableau strongly preferred)
- Experience with NetSuite and perpetual inventory system (RF-SMAR preferred)
- Excellent ability to manage projects and various stakeholders
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and problem-solving skills with proven experience in driving process improvement
- Excellent organizational and follow through skills
- Strong data extraction and analysis skills
- Ability to work cross-departmentally
- Self-motivated, hands-on and detail oriented with the ability to take initiative
Reports To Financial Planning & Corporate Development Manager
Pay Range: $115k - 130k per year. Actual compensation within the range will depend on a variety of factors including the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.
