What you need to know:
In this role you will reach across geographical and functional boundaries to create alliances that further the organization's objectives and market position.
This role reports to the VP Sourcing - Productivity Leader and will be a key member of the GS&PS Productivity team. The candidate for this role will bring a proven track-record of working through successful, complex programs, with a keen eye towards effective stakeholder management, strong influencing skills, effective reporting capabilities, strong communications and partnering skills; a focus on cost efficiency, operational excellence and the future of work in partnership with key leadership; and experience working with a third-party partner seamlessly, ensuring the investment of the external resources are leveraged adequately to accelerate the successful execution of contract management aiding in overall goals of the GS&PS organization leading to overall AIG success.
Responsibilities:
  • Operate as a member of the team to lead negotiations for assigned categories and suppliers
  • Leverage AIG spend and align the contracting strategy with the category and business strategy
  • Partner closely with the team on the creation and implementation of a playbook for standard contractual clauses including pre-approved fallback positions
  • Review early stage deals to flag major contracting issues to ensure early engagement with relevant subject matter expert teams (Legal, ISO, Tax, etc.)
  • Proactively manage active agreements for assigned key suppliers, including renewal/expiration activity and to monitor older agreements for periodic replacement or amendment as AIG standard terms change
  • Ensure compliance with AIG contracting processes and standards
  • Work collaboratively with AIG Legal teams to provide GS&PS feedback and revisions to draft template agreements; ensure templates are prioritized and optimized for GS&PS requirements
  • Support the creation and delivery of training for sourcing managers on contract negotiation strategy and market practices
  • Support the creation and delivery of training for sourcing managers on contract policy and process
  • Partner with the policy and process teams to ensure training materials are current and reflect contract lifecycle practices

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree focused in related area (Business, Supply Chain, Contracts, Law) with 7+ years of relevant experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of best-in-class sourcing and contracting processes
  • Demonstrated leadership of complex supplier contracting, ideally at Fortune 100 and across multi-entity global corporate structure
  • Experience drafting contract provisions and Orders/Statements of Work (SOWs), coupled with excellent writing skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and proven ability to navigate through an organization to "get things done" and drive change in complex environments
  • Someone who is strategic and is data driven/oriented, with the ability to focus on key elements that drive difference
  • Strong communication skills operating in a hybrid environment (virtual and in-person), being able to collaborate and influence cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, to drive change and deliver on Transformation and Continuous Improvement vision and objectives
  • Experience working across functional, organizational, and business boundaries, ensuring the entire process delivers the desired service level standard. Often this entails client-side leadership to recommend and negotiate improvements or changes in the overall process design or systems design.
  • Able to proactively identify gaps and facilitate training needs within the organization
  • Able to model and coach others on Contracting and Risk
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Word
  • Ability to travel on occasion as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in related area, such as Business, Supply Chain, Contracts or Law; JD preferred
  • Experience working with complex Contracts Management and negotiation for the following categories: Licensing, Cloud Services, Professional Services, Managed Services, Real Estate, Marketing, and Human Resources
  • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed company
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with the following tools: Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and Ariba

For positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $103,000.00 - $143,000.00. For positions based in Jersey City, NJ, the base salary range is $93,000.00 - $138,000.00. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
