SummaryEast Hartford Repair Operations has a rare opportunity for a Senior Coatings & Repair Development Engineer (P3) with a focus on New Product Introduction. This position enables the engineer to implement coating repairs for static and rotating engine parts for all major military and commercial programs. This engineer will be the new product technical focal for repair processes relating to plasma spray, HVOF, flame spray, anti-corrosion coatings and more. The candidate will work closely with current coatings SME to ensure alignment of new product introduction and current production support.
Key responsibilities in the following areas:
Surface treatment and Plasma/ HVOF / Flame Spray / Anti-corrosion coatings.
Developing tooling and design masking in preparation for coating.
Machine coatings and achieve finished surface.
Program robotic arms and automate processes.
Development of process plans for new component repair and coatings.
Interpret FAA approved aftermarket tech data and engine repair manuals.
Manage new equipment vendor and industrialize new equipment maximizing capabilities.
Understand and enforce EH&S standards throughout the process.
Advanced degree and 3+ years of Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace or Aviation industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
U.S. citizenship is required for this position; only U.S. citizens are authorized to access and handle sensitive data required to support our government and military programs.
Degree in STEM field; Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering fields preferred.
Experience with surface treatment and Plasma/ HVOF / Flame Spray / Anti-corrosion coatings.
Aftermarket Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) industry experience.
Experience in Disassembly, Assembly and Test (DAT) or Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environments supporting aircraft engines or similar aerospace systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical data, repair manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
LEAN, Continuous Improvement, and/or CORE, Six-Sigma training and experience.
Experience with SAP ERP, MS Office, and Solumina MES or similar Engine Maintenance System.
Effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
