Summary:
As a Product Development and Service Engineer at Direct Color Systems, you will be instrumental in both the development of new products and the servicing of existing/legacy products. You will bring hands-on experience and a practical understanding of mechanical systems to the role. Responsibilities
- Be responsible for design and development of new UV printers and accessories, focusing on mechanical components and systems.
- Assist vendor selection, qualification, and prototype construction on new products.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of mechanical systems and components.
- Collaborate with the rest of the Engineering team, including the Electrical Engineer and Applications team to design testing plans to meet the design intent.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team in the organization, including Process Engineer and Production Manager and Tech Support Manager to ensure product integration and performance during pilot build and external testing stage.
- Provide engineering assistance on troubleshooting on-going technical issues occurred in manufacturing and in the field.
- Communicate directly with customers to understand their unmet needs and incorporate the technical solutions into future Product Development efforts.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve product performance, reliability, and Serviceability.
- Build-up knowledge know-how and assist DCS documentation and instruction videos from Engineering perspective. Administrative Responsibilities
- Performs administrative duties as assigned including maintaining required test logs, design files and reports.
- Maintains a full workload, meeting appropriate response times and quality objectives.
- Complies with all company policies and completes administrative tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
Education/Experience Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience, with a background as a mechanical technician preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in Product Development, preferably in the Inkjet printing or related industry.
- Proficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks and mechanical design principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in both team-based and independent scenarios.
- 3-D printing experience is a plus.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
