Job description

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of key clients. The anticipated book of business assigned will be between 10-12 clients
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and service requests promptly and professionally
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert advice on Employee Benefits programs, including health insurance, voluntary benefits, and wellness initiatives
  • Analyze client needs and develop innovative benefit strategies to meet their specific objectives and budget requirements
  • Manage the renewal process for assigned client accounts, including market analysis, plan design, and negotiation with insurance carriers
  • Conduct thorough benefits plan reviews to identify areas for improvement, cost-saving opportunities, and compliance issues
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless implementation of benefit programs and resolve any operational issues
  • Monitor client satisfaction levels and proactively address any concerns or issues to ensure high client retention rates
  • Collaborate with the sales team to support new business development efforts, including proposals, presentations, and client prospecting
  • Ensure clients' benefit plans adhere to applicable regulations and assist with compliance audits, reporting, and documentation
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and market developments, and provide proactive recommendations to clients
  • Responsible for accuracy of your work product and that of others assisting you
  • Attend company and department meetings and position-related seminars/classes
  • Attend client meetings, carrier functions, and other events as required to help foster a community of connection
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and professional growth and actively seek opportunities to enhance skills and expertise relevant to the job
  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to identify areas for improvement and establish meaningful goals that contribute to personal and organizational success
  • Contribute to a culture of learning within the organization by sharing knowledge, insights, and best practices with team members
You Should Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as a Client Manager, Account Manager, or similar role in the Employee Benefits brokerage industry for 5+ years required
  • Professional certifications, such as Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or GBDS are a plus
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite required
  • Strong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, such as ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, etc. required
  • In-depth knowledge of Employee Benefits programs, insurance products, and industry trends
  • Exceptional client service orientation with a focus on building long-term relationships
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for acquiring new knowledge and skills, staying abreast of industry advancements and best practices
  • Proven ability to set ambitious yet achievable goals, and consistently work towards their attainment
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks effectively and managing multiple client and responsibilities concurrently
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, supervisors, and external partners to set goals, exchange ideas, and drive results
  • Willingness to embrace change, adjust goals as needed, and learn from setbacks to continually improve performance
  • Possess the drive to pursue personal development opportunities independently, while adhering to established timelines and objectives
