DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will supervise all seasonal highway maintenance activities in a designated region of a county maintenance department, applying engineering methodologies. Your responsibilities include overseeing productivity and quality control to optimize operations economically. Moreover, you will develop a comprehensive strategy for the area to align with the organization’s future objectives. Lastly, you will conduct thorough road assessments utilizing updated inventory tools and prioritize necessary surface enhancements based on engineering standards.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Six years of Civil Engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- Five years of Civil Engineering experience in the appropriate specialty; and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; and an associate’s degree in Civil Engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline; or
- Two years of professional Civil Engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
