Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our procurement team. The Senior Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services essential for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement within the manufacturing industry, exceptional negotiation skills, and a proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize cost savings and ensure the timely availability of materials and components.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Manage supplier relationships, including conducting supplier performance reviews and resolving any issues or disputes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment on sourcing requirements and priorities.
- Monitor market trends and industry developments to anticipate changes in supply and demand, mitigate risks, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze and report on key procurement metrics, such as supplier performance, cost savings, and inventory levels.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing roles within the manufacturing industry, with a focus on sourcing raw materials, components, and/or MRO supplies.
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings targets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools, such as ERP systems, e-procurement platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to procurement, including contract law, ethics, and compliance.
